Looks like some ownership, not Snyder, is a little peeved with Marty......

When Marty Schottenheimer was handed the keys to the Redskins franchise, he insisted upon a commitment that majority owner Daniel Snyder get in the back seat and keep his yap shut.

But Schottenheimer apparently didn't consider Snyder's partners.

At least one of Snyder's partners already has expressed concerns about Schottenheimer's handling of the team, a league source told ESPN Insider. Fred Drasner, one of the members of the investment group that put together $800 million in 1999 for the purchase of the Redskins and the former Jack Kent Cooke Stadium, is lobbying for Schottenheimer's ouster, according to the source.

The source acknowledges that a change is unlikely, given that Schottenheimer has a guaranteed four-year, $10-million contract. Likewise, making any moves in the short term would serve only to pull Snyder back into the spotlight of ridicule and contempt that he occupied for most of last season. Since hiring Schottenheimer, Snyder has managed to stay in the background -- and he'll likely remain there as Schottenheimer continues to tinker on an almost daily basis with some aspect of the roster.

So, for now, no rash moves will be made in the front office -- even if the coach continues to make rash moves on the field.

According to the Washington Post, Schottenheimer has resolved the quarterback controversy he created, naming Jeff George the starter if the team plays Sunday. Schottenheimer met with George for 45 minutes Wednesday to discuss the quarterback's play and the coach's decision to yank him after he posted a 14.8 quarterback rating against the Chargers.

Schottenheimer's primary concern is the two interceptions that George threw. "I'm not going to tolerate turning it over," Schottenheimer said. "We're going to find some way to hang on to it."

Still, Schottenheimer realized after watching game films that the egg dropped by the Skins in San Diego wasn't necessarily Jeff George's fault.

Schottenheimer didn't raise the possibility of benching George again if his performance fell short again and refused to discuss that scenario with reporters Wednesday.
