Kilmer17
Hey folks, I havent dowloaded anything in months, but there is a song I want to hear. I went to Kazaa Lite to download it and the "search" option isnt available. It's there, but I cant click on it. Any thoughts as to what I have done, and what I need to do to fix it? codeorama
If the search option isn't available, it means you are not connected. Check your firewall, mine has blocked it in the past with out me realizing it.
Kilmer17
Okay, found it blocked there. So how do I enable it to connect?

In it there should be a way for you to choose which programs you block and which you allow to have free access to the net. Just find Kaaza and change it from block to access or what ever wording your firewall uses. I bet the settings changed during an update for your firewall because Kaaza has a bunch of worms going round. You may want to try limewire, I hear it's safer, for now.... I'm using it and it's great. www.limewire.com
Kilmer17
Code, Is there a way to not allow uploads on limewire? I know that defeats the purpose, but I dont allow them on Kazaa, and would do the same. IS that possible?

codeorama
Ok, limewire automatically sets it up so that the songs that you download are available to share. However, the way around it is that after you download those songs, just move them to another folder. I do that anyway. I have one folder that I have set up for all music downloads regardless of what program I use, I don't use limewire's shared folder, I was wondering why I never had any uploads. Kilmer17
Just FYI, When I downloaded it, I got attacked with LOADS of spyware. Just spent the last 10 minutes clearing it all out. It wouldnt have mattered anyway, my firewall wont allow it.

My firewall won't allow it either, but I never had the attack. As a matter of fact, the network admin for our school system told me that if I wanted to download music at work, to use limewire because it's safer. oh well.
