bulldog
Factors in Chamberlain making the pro bowl in 2001: 1. Playing weight of 248 instead of 275. 2. Playing in a pass friendly offense with Carter, Moss, etc. where he was able to gain favorabe matchups and put up numbers far in excess of what he has done either beforehand or since. 3. The lack of talent at the TE position in the NFC. Remember this was before the entrance of Jeremy Shockey into the NFL with the Giants. Chad Lewis was the pro bowl starter that year. Most of the pro bowl talent at TE was in the AFC with Gonzalez and others.

freakofthesouth
OK...all points taken Bulldog. Maybe he's not what we thought. And if he can't block, then he's not gonna be here next year.
mookie0720
If we need such a good blocking TE, then why is Kellen Winslow Jr. a solution. I'd be willing to bet that KW2 is no better at blocking NFL DL than Chamberlain.
bulldog
I don't know if the Redskins are going to draft Winslow or not, but could it be that if the Skins grab Kellen Jr. (who is rated a solid blocker) that the team could also go out and sign a free agent in the Dan Campbell/Walter Rasby mold to be the designated blocking TE?
