inmate running the asylum Posted January 1, 2004 Share Posted January 1, 2004 I live in Los Angeles and saw the Raider games more then the Redskin games out here. Art Shell is too laid back to be a good head coach and is not a take-charge type guy. That may sound surprising for a physical giant of a man and player. But when Al Davis finally fired him, there was no great outcry over it or rush by the league to snatch up this guy as a head coach. Now he may be a decent OL coach, that I'm not sure of.
