Hey y'all. As some of you know, I live on St Croix in the US Virgin Islands. We got a little banged up from Irma, but compared to the other islands around us, are in great shape. The other USVI and BVIs are all completely destroyed. The relief and evacuations being done, is completely private right now. St Croix is the staging place for everything right now. We're collecting anything and everything we have to send over there to our sister islands. I know we're small, but we're still part of America and not getting much coverage. Everyone I know is using their own homes, boats, heck we are even gathering fruit from our trees to send over. You've never seen destruction like this. We still haven't even been able to find everyone yet. I figured I'd reach out. If anyone is curious about how to help directly, through local reputable sources, has questions about what is happening or needs me to use my large network down here to find a loved one, just ask. I'm not sure if this is allowed because of the gofundme links or not. Before I was married, back in the 90s, my female roommate said, "If I never hear the name Tim Duncan again" after watching so many ACC hoops games with me...but she knew he was a swimmer from USVI. I'm in. We don't do anything internet, but I've got a standing envelope stack. It's not much, gotta spread it around, and we spent a little over a grand getting our own porch-kitty deck solid.
