Sag
They even had the bum on TV eating a peanut butter and jelly sandwich in the clubhouse. Of course his comment was..."no matter how much money I have, I still enjoy these sandwiches." I'm sure the food table in the minors don't have the delicasies(sp) he's used to. Mickalino
Yea, but that was the best 0 for 4, that I've ever seen. His swings were amazing. I think he's ready for the majors now.
Runs with Scissors
I know this has probably already been discussed before, but does it change anything if Deion gets hurt playing baseball? Couldn't he just show up at camp and say look I'm hurt, put me on IR and keep the checks coming and leave?
NavyDave
If slimetime is put on IR thats cool. We wouldn't have to pay the base salary part of his contract this year. We can sign additional players without cutting or restructuring contracts. And if we go to the big dance we can cut slimetime by activating him the week prior and take the cap hit this year and in 02. ------------------ Dave
Pete
AH, come on guys. Give him credit where it's due. His batting is very consistant. He sucks no matter where he plays.
PrimeTime21
Fact of the matter is Deion is good for sports, you guys are always going out of your way to see how he is doing and that is something I find quite ironic!! ------------------ http://www.houseofprime.net
Guest Matt Kyriacou
What I find ironic is the fact that you continue to hug his nuts despite the fact that he continues to show how "un-good" he is for sports. Face it. If not for guys like Deion, there would be no need for salary caps in sports.
Guest Baculus
Primetime21, I think people go out of their way to see how Deion is doing because they want to see him fail! And if Deion fails at baseball, it's good for the 'Skins. It's rather elementary.
@DCGoldPants
we went 2 for 5 last night as the DH. So, total that 2 for 9. Sag
Terry, I was totally shocked to read that about "what's his name". Kyle
...went 0-4 again 7/1. Is now 2-13, batting .154, picking up right where he left off in the majors.
Brave
PT21 - Couple of questions: Could you tell me how Deion is good for sports? Could you, without referring to a dictionary, define ironic? Could you not find a better athlete and/or person to worship? Take me, for example. I had very similar feelings about Walter Payton. If you have a few days free, I could give you about 8 million (where did that number come from?) reasons why he would be more worthy of your undying love and blind allegience. I actually feel guilty just mentioneing his name in a Deion thread.
bulldog
Deion's career in sports of all types is winding down and THAT is what he is really running away from. He knows he is no better than the #2 corner here in Washington and is no longer a consistent threat on punt returns. His value in the NFL is limited to a contending team that suffers an injury at CB and needs someone to step in to fill the breech in an emergency. That is why he is hoping to play baseball until September or October. Teams will be less choosy when facing starting a rookie corner due to injury than now when the rosters are full. @DCGoldPants
There is a new Stone Temple Pilots album out. On one of the songs there is this part where is all slows down and they say "What goes around, comes around". At first I thought it was stupid since the saying is so old school but then I thought about the Skins and De$on and now love the song. ------------------ Pootie Tang whoop your ass so bad, you can write it off on your taxes! PrimeTime21
Say what you want about me or Deion but the truth of the matter is that the Jays are looking to deal one or maybe two of their outfielders before the break, Deion will be then sent to T-dot and you guys will finally lose the battle that you think you are winning! The thing that is "ironic" is that you "claim" to hate the guy so much, can't stand to hear his name uttered or even read, yet you are busting your ball$ over the internet, searching for "Syracuse Skychiefs" and trying to find out how he is doing then there is a daily update on what he is hitting, that people, is irony... ------------------ http://www.houseofprime.net

bulldog
so, let me get this straight Primetime 21. Because Deion gets called up to a sub .500 baseball team that is unloading talent before the trading deadline, to sit in the dugout as a situational player, that proves something in Deion's favor? What, that he can work for only one season at a decent level under a 5 year contract and then steal the better part of $8 million? Boy, if you admire those values, then I am glad you and I have never been on any sports teams together, we would definitely have clashed horns All Deion has shown is he is willing to hide as the 25th man on the bench in Toronto, to avoid doing something he says he is the best ever at doing, being an NFL cornerback. Well, it seems to me that that shows Deion to be more of a coward than anything else. I have never seen a player with HOF credentials through the prime of his career act in this manner. It reminds me of an 8 year old that doesn't want to wear the new blue outfit his parents bought for his first day at school, so he says he is sick and stays in bed to pout. Deion wants to follow Ray Rhodes around because he knows Ray is going to be easy on him and allow him to forgo the pads work in camp and all those drills to work out on his own with his own trainer, apart from the rest of the team. That isn't so hard to figure out. Deion is through working hard. That is a point that should not be lost on any other teams thinking of acquiring him if he is released. He wants to sit back and ride some big dog to the finish line and then stand up and claim some of the credit. Big deal. There are loafers like him all over the place. PrimeTime21 - You really can't see past the nose on your Fu*king face, can you? This is a board about the Washington Redskins by fans of the Washington Redskins. This board has no interest in prima donas with no desire to be the best that they can be and contribute to the success of the team regardless of the circumstances. If you can really justify Deion's actions, then I would really like to read up on it. Otherwise, I suggest you change your website to http://www.houseofslime.net. NavyDave
The only way he is brought up is the BJs have to either make roster spots for two minor league outfielders or ignore their hot prospect and bring up slimetime anyway which will cause Steward to lose what little credibility he has. The skins can still renegotiate two layers contract to sign their rookies and some vets and still wait on slimetime. Anyone think slimetime will be a first ballot HOF? ------------------ Dave
