Coach Steve Spurrier's regular season debut will come on Sept. 8 against the Arizona Cardinals at FedEx Field.

The team will close its regular season with a Dec. 29 home game against the Cowboys. The Redskins have lost nine straight to the Cowboys, and Spurrier has done his best to reignite the rivalry since being hired in January.

He all but promised a victory in his first meeting with the Cowboys during his introductory news conference, and he said recently he hopes to make Dallas what Georgia was to his University of Florida teams -- in other words, a virtually automatic win.

The Redskins last played on Thanksgiving in 1996, when they lost in Dallas, 21-10.

The Redskins' Monday night appearance comes in the second week of the season, a Sept. 16 home game against the Philadelphia Eagles. I hope that this will be the start of a new tradition. Dallas vs. the Skins every Turkey day. In most area's of our country, T-day is for highschool rivalries. In my old school the tradition went back 70 years. Considering SS's comments regarding bringing the rivalry back, this would be great for all puke's and skins fans. Let's just hope the NFL see's to it that a new tradition starts this year. The skins scalping the boys on T-day, every year till I die. Man, that has a sweet ring to it. We go to my brother-in-laws every T-day for the last 17 years. He is a cowboy fan, and so are my bratty neices and nephews. The last 4 years have been horrible. I have dreaded going there every year to hear how his boys are going to whoop my skins. This year I am going to bring a roasted crow with me. If the skins win he is going to eat it. If the pukes win, (long pause) I will eat it. This will be the start of a great tradition. Go Skins

I am going to bring a digital cam so I can post the pic of him in his boy jersey chomping on some crow. Hopefully buy then I will know how to post pics. I will hold a sign behind him with the final game score. I know he is lurking around this room since I told him about it. If your reading this Vince get used to eating some crow.

I'm saying between 9-7 and 10-6 depending on how the offense clicks.

The defense as of today would be:
M Coleman,Big Daddy,Wynn,B Smith

Lavar,Mitchell,Jessie Armstead

Champ,Terrell,Shade, Smoot

The defense aligned like this should be able to compete on the same level as last year so an improvement on the offense leads me to believe we can win 9 to 10 games

I've informed my wife that on Thanksgiving all
family things need to be over before 4PM. I
broke out my Riggins jersey last night getting
ready for the season. She's complaining that
football (Redskins) seems to last all year now.
