Cameron Posted March 13, 2012 Share Posted March 13, 2012 If the commissioner's decision is unappealable, which it evidently likely is, here's an idea as to how Mr. Snyder and Mr. Allen might make the most of the situation: We were theoretically planning on committing big dollars this year in new future financial obligations, based on freed up salary cap room created by moving some previous out-year obligations to the now past uncapped year. Thus the purported competitive advantage for the Redskins in free agency. If those dollars we were willing to spend now can't be spend on salary, please use them for something else that is an "uncapped" expense. Stadium improvements, walkway overpasses to improve safety at roadway intersections, beautification of grounds, charitable giving, free beer (kidding, mostly), or anything else. Make the fans happy that the Redskins nation is made whole in some other entertaining way, since this is in fact an entertainment business. Win or lose on the field, the business of the NFL itself is entertainment. Might as well look at it that way. Have I misunderstood capology? Can we turn this to a short-term fan experience fund for capital projects now? Sure, investing in talent would be the highest priority, but we can't do that according to Mr. Goodell. davidterzian8 Posted March 13, 2012 Share Posted March 13, 2012 I'd rather have all that money to sign more depth, looks like we really need help in the secondary and of course the offensive side of the ball. All that extra money would have really helped after losing a 2nd round pick in this years draft that could have possibly been a starter. Post all such ideas/thoughts in one of the three existing threads on the topic until there's a good reason to strat another one (like some actual new and significant news).
