"What If?"......What if John Kent Cooke successfully bought the Redskins?

John Cooke did seem useless. Sometimes less is more.

Scroll down to that1999 roster in this link...http://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/was/1999.htm

Tell me you wouldn't take that over the current situation. Those guys would thrash the current team.

On what drugs are you on? Only Bailey and Green on the defense and maybe Jansen, both Johnsons and Davis on offense also, Brian Mitchell on teams. Everybody else is either worse or no better than what we have now. The 1999 team was pretty much a mediocre team that got lucky.

I believe there would have been a major difference. Right off the bat, Brad Johnson would have stayed as QB, For the group that believes that QB makes the team, since Johnson took the Bucs to the Super Bowl, it must have happened to the Skins in that alternate reality also.

Keeping Johnson, the Skins don't draft Ramsey and they draft the guard the coaches wanted, the beginning of the next generation of Hogs, like Grimm in 81. The Skins don't bring in Jeff George as a stop gap. Ramsey's doesn't get killed every week because of poor line play.Deion Sanders never puts his mouth in a Skins uniform.

The Skins quit bringing in the over-the-hill big name players. They don't panic when one player goes down and bring in the likes of a Jason Taylor.

And knowing the history of the Skins and the Hogs, they hold on to their draft picks and get some ofensive linemen to anchor the offense AND multiple receivers who were deep threats (aka the new posse) AND a franchise QB to take the credit for the great offensive line and receivers.

And absolutely, positively the best thing of all: I would have never had to hear that idiot Vinny and his "Oh, you mean the sacks and stuff" line, at least not from someone running the Redskins.

Super Bowl?

Trent Green was the QB in 1998, and left in part from the ownership problems. So if that would have been sorted out he probably would have been the QB. So Johnson probably would not have been traded for. Who knows how that would have turned out... Rams may have looked a bit diff as they would have had to look for an alt starter.
