@DCGoldPants
B. Smith has a sprain that isn't serious. If it were a real game, he'd playing this weekend. Marco has a spazy back, nothing more. Neither should be playing this weekend anything. I just heard all of this on
bulldog
you are going to see a lot of preseason injuries creep up over the next four weeks. the time to get worried is when a player goes down and holds a knee or is carted off the way Corey Simon was. the rest of these things are dings and mild stuff, sprains, twists, tweaks, etc.......as the players themselves call them. the one injury so far I would be a little leery of is the one to Jeff George because there is a precedent for the MRI coming back and not showing small tears in the rotator cuff that only become visible through greater injury. everything else so far has been light. Brave
Thanks for the report, Bufford. Now we can all take deep breaths and continue our days.

TennesseeCarl
Not suggesting the injuries are bogus (well, maybe there's some innuendo) but Bruce Smith grumbles pretty consistently about training camp. Jeff George has never been much for it. Coincidence? Perhaps. I'd be willing to bet both vets are on the field opening day.
redman
The official word is here . There's a funny story about how Marty ended the practice, and also how they only practiced special teams in the afternoon today. ------------------ "Loosen up, Sandy baby. MikeB
It appears Corey Simon is fine too. He walked out of the hospital and will see a neurologist tomorrow. He may miss some practice but, barring anything unexpected, we will be seeing him during the season. ------------------
bulldog
Using games and challenges as Marty does only works when you get the respect of the players. Schottenheimer is out there with the players working each day on helping them improve. He isn't just standing on the sidelines looking disinterested and letting the assistants do all the teaching. One positive note and a trait that runs through all good coaches is the fact Marty is involved with all 3 units. While he may be a defensive hand by experience he doesn't shade the offense and special teams and lump them off on somebody else. He shows that those players are important to him and the team as well. Gibbs did that even though he was an offensive coach by trade. Parcells did that. Johnson did that.
