Skyboxx announces partnership with new USFL

Atlanta, GA, February 3, 2011: SkyBoxx Empire has officially joined into a partnership agreement with the New United States Football League (USFL). The partnership unites both entities in the development and launch of the New USFL as well as brand and marketing management.

Sirron Crawford, president of the SkyBoxx Empire record label, announced the partnership today and expressed his company’s gratitude to Michael Dwyer, founder and chairman of the New USFL. “We are happy to join forces with the USFL,” Crawford said. “SkyBoxx will do everything possible to make this partnership a great success.”

In this new endeavor, SkyBoxx will begin planning a concert series/music tour for the 2011-2012 New USFL season. Featuring SkyBoxx artists from various genres and other artists from major record labels, the tour will travel to a minimum of 12 major U.S. cities where New USFL teams will be located and overseas.

Other plans for the partnership include the SkyBoxx’s representation and assistance during this month’s New USFL’s owners’ meeting and endorsement of other entertainment ventures – aside from that of the concert series.

I don't know if this new USFL is a real thing or even if it is, if it has the financial model to do this but if an old school USFL started now with some heavy hitters as owners I think the NFL could be vulnerable. Not right away but in time.

First this new USFL would have something the old USFL did not, NFL free agency. They could easily start bidding on NFL free agents and snag more than their fair share. With the lockout looming, a new leagule could make a killing in signing free agents this coming year.

What the old USFL did wrong was trying to compete with NFL/force a merger way too soon. If they could couple deep pocket owners with patience, the NFL will find itself in a very real war for player's services.

Strike or not, a league like this has no chance against the NFL. You're kidding yourself if you think it does.

The league with the best talent always wins. It would be insane if it happened but if the players union negotiated a better deal with a different league they'd be able to compete with the NFL. If they grew and offered rookies more money, the NFL would be finished within 5 years. Make no mistake about it the owners are not essential to professional football. There is too much money at stake for those players not to have a league willing to pay it.
