There's nothing inherently cheesy about that line, unlike most of the others. True. And even though it might be cheesy or perhaps strike a chord of insincerity, the American Beauty quote about beauty in the world isn't cheesy. It's not great but it's not cheesy. Perhaps if he had delivered it differently (contrary to what the actor or director believed he SHOULD do, it may have been effective delivered more casually and not crying) it wouldn't even be on the list.
