Why's it so hard to scout, draft and develop a QB?

many teams havent had a franchise qb in recent memory. bears/lions/browns/ravens/jets/falcons/texans/minn/kc/oak off the top of my head come to mind. you could argue a few had or have guys that could be close though, depends on how you define franchise qb (years of high level perf, clutch plays, etc). i think its just hard to find that type of player. after marino, mia hasnt been able to find that guy. same really for sf and now denver. skins are not alone in not having/getting that type of qb.

There are plenty of guys who have the physical abilities and intelligence to play QB in the NFL. It is the psychological and emotional side of things that do most of them in. There is a lot of pressure that comes with being a NFL starting QB. This is especially true for the players drafted in the first round. With the money they are paid, they are expected to produce sooner rather than later, but it takes time to adjust. A lot of guys can’t handle that kind of pressure and it shows in their play.
