dcnativenerd
This was originally on the MacNeil/Lehrer Newshour in 1987 to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the U.S. Constitution. It is a live demonstration of what a television debate between New York Federalists (in this case, Alexander Hamilton) and Anti-Federalists (John Lansing and Robert Yates) would look like. It's kind of hard to explain, but I found the video to be extremely intriguing. Hope you enjoy
SoulRebel
Thanks for the link!:applause: I love to be reminded how even though today people who want to limit federal government intrusion into our lives stick to the Constitution, while back in its infancy the Constitution was considered to give the federal government way too much power and would one day deprive Americans of the G*D given liberties. "Mr. Hamilton, you are asking us to trust politicians with our dearest freedoms":notworthy:laugh:
dcnativenerd
Isn't it amazing? To think that then, the Constitution was considered to be a tool of big government. As I said in another thread, it's astounding what you can find on public television.
