What's this game"2nd life" I'm listening too on TV right now on CNBC(ch 42)?

I'm watching this show on ch.42 on CNBC called "Playing to win:Video Game"...

Is anyone here a player or member there?They have been talking about all the systems from Atari till now....But then they started talking about this game "2nd life" that sounds like a trip!Then they said it's been around since 93' (I believe)Where the hell have I been?I guess I have been living under a rock with the word "Redskins" printed on it...lol

Sounds like it would be very cool,when creating your dude (or woman) and living a life on there...

Has anyone played this game?I may have to check it out...

Second Life is a virtual world where you can make money, own a business, etc. It has its' own currency which you can change into real dollars. My sister has an account but not sure how involved she is in it.
