drums and skins
Hey guys, just promoting a friend of mine's band (he's the drummer) to see what you think. They're called The Outside Royalty and currently they can been heard all around London. Originally they were called Adam Evil & The Outside Royalty and started in Pittsburgh, but after realizing that Pittsburgh is not the music scene to get stuck in they moved across the pond in 2006 towards an audience that would appreciate their sound a little better. They also dropped Adam Evil from the band's name because people got confused when they realized they weren't evil or heavy metal/rock. Their sound is a bit unique. A mesh of violin, cello, synthesizer, guitars, vocals and drums makes their signature rock sound. The Pittsburgh Tribune described their sound a few years ago as "a cross between a young, experimental David Bowie and elements of T. Rex and the Jam." It may not be for you, but I think many people here could like this band. I am not personally a fan of David Bowie, and don't really know much about T. Rex, but I like the music. I've provided their first album (with permission) for you to download and listen to: Adam Evil & The Outside Royalty - Self Titled (66.31 MB) http://www.mediafire.com/?inojzxj0xlj My favorite tracks are Just Past Laughing (#2), Love Song at the End of the World (#6), Goodbye (#7), and Liquid Leather Lover (#9). They’ve recorded newer stuff since but haven’t released any sort of new album or demo yet. You can also find some clip of their music on their website: http://www.theoutsideroyalty.com . They also have a few songs from their latest recordings on their myspace at www.myspace.com/theoutsideroyalty . Also, you can go here http://www.last.fm/music/The+Outside+Royalty/Snakeman+EP and listen to some of their latest tracks in full. Their cover of Eleanor Rigby is fantastic.. Also, many fans have posted videos of their performances on YouTube. One of my favorites is their cover of Eleanor Rigby: . Not the best video/audio quality , but still amazing. Anyways, what are your thoughts? Do you think they have what it takes to “make it big” ? They're certainly trying and are building a decent fan base in the London area. I wouldn’t be surprised to see them have a breakout hit, but maybe I’m just biased.
