Jason Slowhorn released

Nope, this is the only year they will be paying him according to Newsday. His signing bonus gets prorated to this year. From what I read, he is only going to cost the Giants an additional $700,000 on top of what he was going to count against the cap this year already. I don't know if this is true but if it is, this isn't a big deal. What it will do is give them several million more in cap space in the next several years. If they would have let him go after June 1st, not only would he have counted against this years cap with what he already did, but he would have cost the Giants $4 million in 2004. This way, they pay him this year what they owe him and that is it. They had the cap space to do it all this year which is what they wanted to do if they had to release him.

When did Sehorn sign his last big contract? Was that in 2000?

Cuz I heard the cap hit next year is going to be like 8 mill? Is this right?

Well, according to Lenny P. on ESPN.com, it is 8 million:

Giants | Sehorn Cap Hit - posted at KFFL

14:49 PT: Updating an earlier story, Len Pasquarelli, of ESPN.com, reports the New York Giants will now assume an $8 million cap hit for the 2003 season. The "dead money" hit is a result of releasing CB Jason Sehorn.
