praise_gibbs
To me, this song just says a lot of how I feel about this whole ST tragedy. It is completely senseless. Not because he was a Redskin. Not because he was a father, a son, a fiance. But because he did nothing to bring this on. All he did was bust his ass to do what he loved. To play a kids game for a kings ransom. However, this song is not entirely about ST though. The sad thing is, this type of tragedy happens a lot. Certainly it has a different 'plot' or 'motive', if you will. But, each one is just as senseless as the next. About the song though.. For me? This song just hits home in more ways than one. Having lost family members and friends to senseless acts. This song is based on pure emotion. I hope you guys like it. This dude has a lot of talent. You can just tell a lot was put into this song. Having read a lot of posts here on ES about this tragedy.. I would even say that he put our thoughts into words. What say you? http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=274104361 (This song is dedicated to Sean Taylor. And anybody and everybody, that's lost someone) Woke up this morning and I'm still in disbelief Yo what's this craziness on my TV I guess even God needs a tailor-made safety So now your free (so free) You're so free (yeah) Like a bird spreads its wings.. So beautiful, and graceful God called your number man And he called your soul back home No man knows the hour or the day How it's gonna happen or the time or the place One squeeze of the hand and you just fell asleep You didn't die, you just moved on Like when you were a kid, you just went home And now and on, I celebrate your life When your candle burned out God turned on the lights I hear your voice, saying just be strong Got fixes on, if you just hold on You didn't leave us, no you just went home When your candle burned out God turned all his lights on ( I'mma see you again) (Cant wait to see you again) (I'mma see you again) I've got so much pain.. In my heart.. I can't think.. I can't breathe.. I can't sleep.. I can't speak.. But I don't wanna talk about it So many things that I would say If you only had one more day ....Just like a bird Flies away (Flies away) Flies away (Fly away) Just fly away And since no man knows How it ends or how it goes You squeezed a hand and you went on home You didn't die, you just moved on Like when you were a kid, you just went home And now and on, I celebrate your life When your candle burned out God turned on the lights (and) I hear your voice, saying just be strong Got fixes on, if you just hold on You didn't leave us, you just went home When your candle burned out God turned all the lights on From on top to the underdog I will graduate from this place But your face I need to see ASAP Patience is wearing faith crack Down little to nothing But glad that the blood still pumpin', in my veins Cause one change and it could all end so sudden (Haah) Suddenly, I wasn't prepared I wasn't equipped I asked for a lot of things But, I prayed for nothing but strength To endure the fight.. The life.. This war! But the battle is not mine (not mine) It's yours! You didn't die, you just moved on Like when you were a kid, you just went home And now and on, I celebrate your life (I celebrate your life) When your candle burned out God turned on the lights I hear your voice, saying just be strong (Sean if you can hear me) Got fixes on, if you just hold on (God let him hear me) You didn't leave us, no you just went home When your candle burned out God turned all his lights on

Cheers, Beers and Mountaineers
Good song. Speaking of which, the other day I was listening to 93.9 and a song came on that I think had Lil Wayne in it that had a line "Hail to the Skins, RIP Sean Taylor." Anyone know what I'm talking about? I don't know whether it was done by a local group or was a song that actually featured Lil Wayne. (didn't know who the other rapper was)
