If You Were Gibbs What Would You Do?

That game was 42-7 at HALFTIME. DID YOU EVEN WATCH IT? DId you see the Patriots drop into prevent for the entire second half? Jason Taylor scored a TD too.

Or do you just poke around looking around for some tidbit to justify your irrational reaction, only to have it blown up.

Please go look for another one. The Miami one holds absolutely 0 relevance. Remember, we beat Miami, so I dont know what your point is other than you hate Joe Gibbs and he is not a man.

The ONLY reason I bring up the Cowboys is because they have Fans who are better than you. And I hate Cowboys fans.

Miami scored 7 in the first half, we scored 7 in the 4th quarter.... Did the Patriots drop into Prevent with us? No because they knew a senile coach would call his famous WR screens and run the ball......

If I were Gibbs I'd continue to keep this offensive unit together as long as possible, and possibly add another piece or 2, #1 WR could be huge for us, Ocho Cinco. If Portis can hold up, keep him around, otherwise we may need to look at drafting a RB. Samuels has a few years left, Kendall is probably good for 1 or 2 more, Rabach is good for awhile, Randy & hopefully Jansen can make a return. If no Jansen, I believe Heyer has a shot to take the spot.

The important thing for offenses to be consistently productive is to have core players together for a few seasons. Sure there are exceptions to the rule, but generally this is how most offenses become good. Manning has had his o-line pretty much together for awhile minus the rookie LT he has this year, same with Brady, same with Trent Green in KC, Aikman with Dallas, and so on. Other than Brady, they've also kept the skill players together.

The important thing for us is to have stability, and hope and pray that our FO is no where close to being the knee jerk, overreacting, uninsightful people that frequent ES. Otherwise we'd be firing JG, GW, Saunders, and hiring, ummm, nobody, because nobody would be willing to work for such an %#$hole!

Actually they did. Thats why we scored.

I understand if this back and forth wasnt fact based but it is. It is not a personal spat.

If you think I am going to let someone come on here and say Gibbs is not a man and he should take Viagra and go home to his wife AND NOT SAY SOMETHING, well that is just ignorant. Maybe I should learn to turn the other cheek, but that comment is UNCALLED FOR

We went up againt a team the likes of which the NFL has never seen before in its history. We lost. We didnt lose becase our playcalling. We didnt lose because Joe Gibbs is not a man. We lost cause the right side of our offensive line sucks. Period the end.

We have 9 more games. We are in the playoff hunt. How about we support our team in a trying moment instead of calling for instant upheaval once again.

I agree 100 percent, but I was thinking more in the short-term. I don't think we need to fire anybody or anything stupid like that. I can see adding a WR and some OL depth through the draft this year which would help tremendously.

We could get DL help by signing Jared Allen in the offseason, he's young and very talented and is about the only bright spot on that KC defense. He would help us out a lot and allow us to draft a top WR with our first pick this year.

But yes I agree stability is what we need.

If I was gibbs first off I would go get some Viagra and go home to my wife, that way I can remember what being a man is all about.

Uncalled for.

Then I would go to Redskins park I would call a coaches meeting where I would assert the following:

1) Al Saunders has complete control of the offense and does all the play calling.

Agreed

2) I would have Joe Bugel have this as my starting lineup Samuels, Kendall, Rayback, DeMulling, Heyer

Only if DeMulling knows the offense and Heyer is healthy.

3) I would call a news conference and apologize to the fans for the senile way he has been acting and coaching. I would also tell them that the way the offense has played has been totally unacceptable.

He basically does this at every news conference.

4) I would call down to Joe Gibbs racing and turn complete control over to my son.

JD is already running it while he's here. JG Racing is in name only.

5) I would go into my office and take a look at the roster and make an offensive scheme condusive to the stregnths I had on the current roster.

It would have to wait until the offseason. Can't just change in midstream.

6) I would then go back to Saunders with the information I came up with and let him handle it as he may.

See your first point.

7) I would set up some type of jar that the offense would have to add 100 bucks to EACH OF THEM everytime there was a 3 and out and give it to the Defense at the end of the year.

This I really like.

8) Anyone that wasn't producing in practice would be deactivated and the media notified that he sucked during practice.

Players that don't practice usually don't play. He won't throw his players under the bus. That's stupid.

9) I would finally realize that the way I dealt with players during the first stint here has NOTHING to do with how to relate to players of TODAY!

I think he already realizes this, but Parcells didn't change either. Vermeil was the only one that really changed, but his first year with the Rams, the team mutinied.

There that is what I would do if I was Joe Gibbs.

I would agree with Jared Allen....but I would love for us to take a shot at Tommie Harris.

Our front four have got to be able to get to the QB in 3 seconds.

Jared Allen would be a great acquisition for us, and he seems to be a type of DE that would excel in our system. He can blow up the run and provide a pass rush that demands constant double teams. After seeing Kampman play, having a non stop guy like that would instantly make our D much more stout and give our d-backs even more oppurtunities for INTs.

This would also allow us to use our early draft picks on offense, where it's needed. I've heard Vinny say many times anyway, that he pretty much rules out picking d-line in the 1st round.

Agreed, and I am sorry for the Viagra shot however I hate when the skins lose and I expected them to lose this one, however it's not the loss but the way they lost. Someone needs to do something because this offense has been offensive more times than not. Why bring Al Saunders here if you still trying to run your old outdated offense. I mean Gibbs admitted to getting Saunders here because his offense was sound and good, this offense looks like the offense Gibbs was calling before Saunders got here, I mean I understand and truly appreciate what Gibbs did for us and the 3 SB's however for me the more he remains the head coach with this vanilla bland offense the more angrier I become. We have the tools to strike, it's not like noodle arm is starting we have a young QB with a cannon, when the offensive line was hurt during JG1 he moved the pocket, and it worked, why not do that again now? There is no trust in JC and it shows by the lackluster play. CP said a few weeks ago this offense sucks in practice and it's carrying over into games. If JG can't truly let Al Saunders call the WHOLE OFFENSE then let him go and take the blame. The Redskins offense is like 3 blind mice, where are they going? NO WHERE!! :notworthy

I am sorry for getting all heated. Its obvious our O is in a RUT. There has to be a section of that 700 page playbook that speaks to what to do if you cant go right (ie go left). Lets find that chapter. Lets Crush the Jets

Hail.

Based on Gibbs conserative approach he has today, we could have had the Hog's and we still wouldn't have done anything. Gibbs is too old fashioned for today's game PERIOD.

they also have some OLD Linebackers in Seau, Vrabel and Colvin and they still owned the Redskins. So again your points are fundementally wrong. The only decent defensive back they have is Samuels and Rodney Harrison is slow so between Moss and Randel El and Lloyd we couldn't have done something? YEAH RIGHT we will never no now will we since Gibbs is still thinking he has Riggins and the Hogs......:2cents:

Two of those LB's are HOF locks

Jason had about half a sec and no pocket so don't blame Moss and El

With so little time the coaches should have called better route combos, natural picks, crossing routes, etc.

Yes the line sux

Worst defensive playcalling I have seen in 10 years. 0 stunts, 0 blitz, maybe 2 or 3 bump coverages. Basically Tampa 2 all day.

We lost Rogers and Smoot was out that game, that's prob. why we didn't see any blitz.

Personally though, I would've blitzed like hell when we were too far down to come back sometime in the 3rd.
