Runs with Scissors
If you look around the NFL,just about every team is set at runningback. AFC EAST ------------ Miami---Ricky Williams 1668... 14 TDS Jets-----Curtis Martin 1011 ..6 TDs Pats----Antowain Smith 927 ..5 TDs Bills----Travis Henry 1358... 13 TDs Davis won't be going to the AFC EAST!! AFC WEST ------------- Oakland--Garner+Weatley+Salary Cap Hell Denver---Portis 1280....13 TDs San Diego---L.T. 1616..14 TDs K.C.----Holmes 1615...21 TDs Davis won't be going to the AFC WEST!! AFC NORTH -------------- Pitts. --Bettis+Zereoue Browns---Rookie William Green(16th overall pick)+Jamel White Balt.------Jamal Lewis 1241...6 TDs Cinn.-----Corey Dillon 1258....7TDs Maybe the Browns??Depends on what they think of their first round pick. AFC SOUTH -------------- Tenn.----George 1063 ..11TDs Colts.-----James 903....2TDs..Mungro-7TDs Jags.----Taylor 1241 7TDs..Mack 9 TDS Houston---Wells 528 3TDs Houston will be interested. NFC EAST ------------ Eagles---Staley 1001 5TDs...Rookie Westbrook Giants----Barber 1184 11TDs Dallas-----Smith 962.. 5TDs--Hambrick I can't see the Eagles spending the money, when they all ready have good running backs.Dallas is a big question mark.Give up Smith and Hamrick..to sign Davis? NFC WEST -------------- 49ers---Hearst 905 4.6 8 TDS...Barlow..588 4.4 Rams--Faulk,Gordon Seattle--Alexander 1108 15TDS Cards--Just signed Shipp to 4 year extension Not going to the NFC WEST!! NFC NORTH -------------- Packers---Green 1173 7 TDs Vikes---Bennett 1214 5.1 ..Moe Williams 11 TDS Bears---A-Train 721..6 TDs Lions----Stewart 996 4.5 4 TDs Maybe the Lions think Davis would be an upgrade, don't know Stewarts contract info. NFC South -------------- Bucs...Pittman,Alstott,Stecker Falcons..Dunn 860 4.1 7TDS...T.J. Duckett 18th overall 507 4TDS Saints...Deuce McAllister 1271 13 TDs Panthers...Lamar Smith,Deshaun Foster(what happen to him?) Maybe the Panthers and Bucs ..don't know what their Salary cap situation is. So the way it looks now... In the AFC...Houston and maybe Cleveland. In the NFC...Bucs and Panthers...maybe Dallas..maybe lions So,it look's like Davis has very limited options...Plus you have to figure in Salary cap..and teams taking RBs in the first round in April. laurent
If Parcells does indeed end up in Dallas I wouldn't be surprised to see Davis donning the hated blue and silver. Davis is the big bruising back Parcells likes to have on his team. Davis would also be a could fit for the Eagles but unless Reid makes some adjustments to his offensive philosophy I don't see him ending up there. I don't know what Pittsburgh's cap situation is but Bettis is starting to look a bit long in the tooth. He would certainly fit their style of play and would take the pressure of Maddox. Houston among all the teams out there probably makes the most sense. They need a threat at running back to keep defenders of Carr. I'm sure that their first order of business will be to sort out that mess along the offensive line and then find somebody that can get the tough yards between the tackles. stevea
My ranking of most likely destinations: 1. Steelers (Russ Grimm will ask for him) 2. Bucs 3. Pats I'm not so sure he'd be anxious to go to a rebuilding team, or that a rebuilding team would be anxious to sign a 29-year-old RB. Otherwise ... Houston, Carolina, Chicago, Arizona, and Dallas would all be possible. HTTR!
Skins57
AFC EAST ------------ Miami---Ricky Williams 1668... 14 TDS no Jets-----Curtis Martin 1011 ..6 TDs no they have Jordan Pats----Antowain Smith 927 ..5 TDs I could see some interest Bills----Travis Henry 1358... 13 TDs no AFC WEST ------------- Oakland--Garner+Weatley+Salary Cap Hell no a passing attack Denver---Portis 1280....13 TDs no San Diego---L.T. 1616..14 TDs no K.C.----Holmes 1615...21 TDs no Man this is a tough divison to be looking for a RB job other than OAK AFC NORTH -------------- Pitts. --Bettis+Zereoue would fit in nice but I doubt it Browns---Rookie William Green(16th overall pick)+Jamel White no Balt.------Jamal Lewis 1241...6 TDs no Cinn.-----Corey Dillon 1258....7TDs I heard somewhere Dillon may be headed to Oak through a trade... But I doubt it AFC SOUTH -------------- Tenn.----George 1063 ..11TDs no Colts.-----James 903....2TDs..Mungro-7TDs James gets another year or so Jags.----Taylor 1241 7TDs..Mack 9 TDS Taylor is a FA, Mack should get hte job Houston---Wells 528 3TDs My pick as to where he goes NFC EAST ------------ Eagles---Staley 1001 5TDs...Rookie Westbrook no Giants----Barber 1184 11TDs no Dallas-----Smith 962.. 5TDs--Hambrick maybe I can't see the Eagles spending the money, when they all ready have good running backs.Dallas is a big question mark.Give up Smith and Hamrick..to sign Davis? ........Smith is gone anyway so it is really a Hambrick for Davis, I would do that everyday for the rest of my life NFC WEST -------------- 49ers---Hearst 905 4.6 8 TDS...Barlow..588 4.4 no Barlow will start Rams--Faulk,Gordon no Seattle--Alexander 1108 15TDS no Cards--Just signed Shipp to 4 year extension no Not going to the NFC WEST!! NFC NORTH -------------- Packers---Green 1173 7 TDs no Vikes---Bennett 1214 5.1 ..Moe Williams 11 TDS no Bears---A-Train 721..6 TDs Maybe Thomas has fallen out of favor Lions----Stewart 996 4.5 4 TDs Might be a cap hit Maybe the Lions think Davis would be an upgrade, don't know Stewarts contract info. NFC South -------------- Bucs...Pittman,Alstott,Stecker This is my 2nd pick where he goes Falcons..Dunn 860 4.1 7TDS...T.J. Duckett 18th overall 507 4TDS no Saints...Deuce McAllister 1271 13 TDs no Panthers...Lamar Smith,Deshaun Foster(what happen to him?) Foster got hurt... maybe I believe he ends up in Houston with Charlie or TB with Chucky
Storm
He has plenty of options: Dallas Jacksonville Houston New England Cleveland Arizona Tennessee (George is averaging 3.4 yard per attempt) Lions Phili Bears not necessarily in that order
Runs with Scissors
Jacksonville has Fred Taylor..he's rushed for 1241 yards so far...they would cut him and sign Davis?? Don't think so. New England has Antowain Smith....he had 1157 yards and 12 TDs last season..Plus led them to a championship. They gonna cut him and spend millions on Davis? Don't think so. Arizona just signed Mercel Shipp to a 4 year extension worth around 8 million. They ain't signing Davis. Titans gonna cut Eddie George and sign Davis??I have to see that. Philly..will cut a 1000+ yard back in Staley and sign Davis?Plus the Eagles are high on Westbrook. Browns just drafted a RB in the first round last april (#16)..by signing Davis they will be calling him a bust and a wasted pick after one season. BlitzFiftySix
I am almost certain that he will end up in Dallas. If not, I think Houston, Oakland or New England are all likely possibilities.
NorEastNCFan
Please don't let him wind up in the NFC East. That would be a nightmare come true. I would hate to have to see him twice a year. It still gives me indigestion having to see Mitchell in an Eagles uniform, and knowing that everytime he touches the ball he wants to stick it to us. Skins57
Jacksonville has Fred Taylor..he's rushed for 1241 yards so far...they would cut him and sign Davis?? Don't think so. I think Fred is a FA and he has had one healthy year and why invest a crap load of money into a back that is never on the field? Also I think Mack would be a good back for them. I still think Houston and TB are he most likely destinations with Dallas in third:puke:

Ignatius J.
First of all, Davis isn't going to cost millions, he's going to go on the cheap. So that opens things up a bit. Texas is the most likely, but New England is where he should go. I think he would do well there, and they could use a bruising back. A. Smith is good, but one of few backs in the league who are not arguably on the same level as davis. That said the texans have the need and the cap room. Unless davis wants the NFC grudge, he'll go there. -DB
Runs with Scissors
First of all, Davis isn't going to cost millions, he's going to go on the cheap. We gave him a 10 million dollar signing bonus a few years ago,if I recall correctly. Why would Davis go on the cheap? He was the NFC's leading rusher last year. Davis will want at least a 6-8 million dollar signing bonus.
Ignatius J.
and he won't get it. 5 mil tops. I'd put the over under at 4.5. Any takers? -DB
OrangeSkin
If we're placing bets right now, I'd have to say Tampa, but either way he'll be back to burn us.
