Phannman66
2007 mock draft ; no trades Oakland Raiders – JaMarcus Russell, QB LSU Detriot Lions – Joe Thomas, OT Wisconsin Cleveland Browns – Alan Branch, DT Michigan This is the only pick I'm going to justify. Romeo Crennel, a defensive coach, who runs the 3-4, always wants to bolster that D. He is going to need a replacement for Ted Washington sooner rather than later since he is 39. And if need be, Branch could play DE. To adress RB, Jamal Lewis is going to get cut from Baltimore, so he is a big canidate to go to Cleveland. 4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Calvin Johnson, WR Georgia Tech 5. Arizona Cardinals – Gaines Adams, DE Clemson 6. Washington Redskins – Jamaal Anderson, DE Arkansas 7. Minnesota Vikings – Brady Quinn, QB Notre Dame 8. Houston Texans – Adrian Peterson, RB Oklahoma 9. Miami Dolphins – Levi Brown, OT Penn State 10. Atlanta Falcons – Reggie Nelson, S Florida 11. San Francisco 49’ers – Ted Ginn Jr., WR Ohio State 12. Buffalo Bills – Leon Hall, CB Michigan 13. St. Louis Rams – Adam Carriker, DE Nebraska 14. Carolina Panthers – Patrick Willis, ILB Ole Miss 15. Pittsburgh Steelers – Lawrence Timmons, OLB Florida State 16. Green Bay Packers – Marshawn Lynch, RB California 17. Jacksonville Jaguars – Marcus McCauley, CB Fresno State 18. Cincinnati Bengals – Amobi Okoye, DT Louisville 19. Tennessee Titans – Dwayne Jarrett, WR USC 20. New York Giants – Paul Posluszny, OLB Penn State 21. Denver Broncos – Quentin Moses, DE Georgia 22. Truant
As good of a guess as any. I don't think Peterson slips. I think his workout numbers will be sure to keep him in the top 5. Good job though, we'll see what happens.
Gregpeck99
Nonsense ... this Mock is way off ... Cleveland does not take Branch over Johnson or Quinn ... if Cleveland wins the toss they will either take Quinn or trade with the Cowboys who will take Johnson in which case the Bucs picking next will take Quinn. elkabong82
Good mock. Look forward to your second draft after the combine! - I'm still not sold on Detroit going for Thomas though. Millen is in charge, and he is an idiot in the draft. I think he goes for Quinn because it's the sexy pick, and he wants to get a franchise QB in there to justify all the first rounders wasted on WRs. Kitna did wonders for Palmer, and Millen might be hoping he can do it again. - I'm not sold on Cleveland getting Branch simply because I don't think he is worth a top 3 pick. That being said, I really hope we are the ones who draft Branch.

Kind of hard to factor in trades when free agency hasn't even started yet. You have to take mock drafts as they are right now, because trade down/up scenarios won't be clear until after the combine, and a few weeks into free agency, when teams will address certain needs, and the still standing needs to be addressed in the draft will be much more obvious. Right now mock drafts can only operate off of the notion that there are no trades.
