Just a bit of background information:

Rick Perry is the Republican incumbent. He's been leading most major polls, but only by a tiny margin.

Chris Bell is the Democratic challenger. He's the only "politics-as-usual" challenger, but he's also the only one whose platform I agree with.

Kinky Friedman is a left-leaning Independent challenger who has achieved national notoriety for challenging the norm. Polls have shown that if every single person in Texas were to vote, then he would win. However, those numbers change when one looks at actual suspected voter turnout.

Carole Keeton Strayhorn is the right-leaning Independent challenger who probably has very little chance of winning.

Betting against a Republican incumbent in Texas is like betting against a Democratic incumbent in Massachusetts. Sure, you might win sometimes, but the Casino is going to end up with all of your money eventually.

True. I'm on a campus that is very politics-averse (which means Kinky is the dominant force on Rice's campus), and Rice is in an area of Houston that's very left-leaning, so I've been seeing a lot more hope that Perry will lose than that which actually exists throughout the rest of Texas.

Perry, without a doubt...I plan on voting for Kinky, but it is nothing but a protest vote...no hope of winning.

BTW WHAT does Bell support that is worthwhile?...He is a pure politician

He pissed me off years ago,and will never get my vote...even for dogcatcher.
