As a Jets fan what should I expect from Ramsey?

Then you'd be wrong. :)

The point is Gibbs stuck with guys who he felt gave him the best chance at winning, IN SPITE of what the media or the fans thought.

Nobody wanted him to keep Thiesmann when Gibbs first came here.

Doug Williams???? That ol' washed-up guy from Tampa Bay??

Mark Rypien???? He fumbles every time he gets sacked.

Yet, Gibbs kept these players around (while jettisoning others like Schreoder and Humphries) cause he felt he could win with these guys.

And he was right.

It's the same with Brunell. He didn't look good in 2004. So when everyone was ready to run him out of town, Gibbs stood by him.

And he was right again. Brunell helped get us to 10-6 and the second round of the playoffs.

So, YES, you can trust Gibbs judgement on QBs.

Well, it is really a matter of perspective, and nothing that you said invalidates my point. Every single quarterback you listed was a one hit wonder so to speak. Each one (with the possible exception of Theissman) had one great year and won a Super Bowl while having an otherwise relatively insignificant career. So yes, Gibbs has known how to squeeze the most out of the right guy at the right time, but Gibbs has never had an eye for a franchise quarterback who goes on to have a long and successful career. Time will tell with Campbell, but as it stands now, that is the record.

Oh, and Brunell led us to 5-6. PORTIS led us to 10-6.
