Hauss
I heard parts of his news conference on the radio in Orlando--he did mention coaching 4 or 5 years as mentioned in an earlier post. Said he diin't have to coach in the state of Florida. He would like to go to a team with a strong GM and someone who knew about the cap. He even said a personnel guy can pick out the guard-let me pick out the quarterback and a couple of other postions and I will be happy. Said at Florida that it had become a relief to win and disgrace to lose (my translation : you can make the playoffs in the NFL with 6 losses- I'm screwed if I lose 2 games). Said he didn't mind going to a team that would be considered an underdog.
redman
If he wants to pick a QB, then that narrows the teams down to Washington and Carolina. It also means that Snyder had better hire a GM before he hires Spurrier. But that's reading his comments awfully literally. ------------------ <IMG SRC="http://www.thelocker-room.com/images/RedskinLogo.jpg" border=0> "Loosen up, Sandy baby. Cskin
he also mentioned the possibility of coaching Rex Grossman again. So...he said...he's going to have to learn how to not break curfew. After seeing the press conference on ESPN, I'm convinced he's either coming to Washington or Carolina. I'm leaning the Panthers way, because they are pathetic and his ego would be stroked pretty good if he took that team and made them a contender. In DC, it's pretty well known around the league that we're an "up and comer", being only an offensive philosophy and a couple of pieces away from contending for a championship. I think he'd prefer to take the Carolina job, build his offense with his personnel similar to that of Florida, and allow a GM and defensive guru to build the defense. I once thought about Atlanta, but it appears here now that Reeves will get another shot under new owner Arthur Blanks.
OrangeSkin
I'd say Carolina. It's warm (well, at least a tad bit warmer than here), he has a young (old) QB to develop, and they're without a coach. It looks like Marty is staying put.
Stricknine
That sounds about right to me...the "underdog" comment just about sealed it for me. Wherever he goes he admitted he will be going after alot of Gators in the draft. ------------------ Randy Redskin Fan for Life
Hauss
That's right--he did say that and in his remarks to the team that he hoped that some of them would be playing for him in the at next level.
Brave
Has he been ruled out of San Diego yet? I know he's not a left-coaster, but it IS warm and he could choose his QB there. And they certainly have a coaching opening.
