The Ravens reversed what had been a bad first day in free agency by signing defensive end Trevor Pryce Saturday, a league source said.

Pryce, a four-time Pro Bowl defender for the Denver Broncos, will sign a five-year, $25 million contract which includes $10 million in guaranteed bonuses. Considered one of the top defensive linemen in the NFL, Pryce will replace four-year starter Tony Weaver, who signed with the Houston Texans earlier in the day.

A nine-year veteran, Pryce ranks sixth in Broncos history with 60 career sacks and earned four consecutive trips to the Pro Bowl from 1999-2002.

He has recorded 12 career multiple-sack games for the fifth-highest total in Broncos history while ranking sixth on the Broncos' all-time sacks list (60).

Weaver, who was considered the Ravens' most consistent lineman, is expected to receive $13 million in guaranteed money.

The Ravens also lost starting nose tackle Maake Kemoeatu, who agreed in principle with the Carolina Panthers. He will sign a five-year, $23 million deal which includes $8 million in bonuses.

Yeah fine, let the Ravens go defense in FA again and not make any attempts to bring in a talented QB or replace Jamal Lewis. Good to see them stumbling even more, this wasnt the right move for them IMO despite what a good player Price is.

THe league may allow them to sign more than just one free agent. I'm not sure, but I think this was a major part of the new CBA. Teams are allowed to sign more than one player an offseason now.

Yeah and they are are activly persuing Drew Brees and Daunte Culpepper arent they? Oh and Edgerrin James, yeah him too. The fact that they arent willing to go straight out and get a QB while they are signing a free agent in a position they dont really need shows a little something about the organization's leadership.

What are they going to do draft Len Dale White and hope for like the 3rd year in a row that Kyle Boller suddenly turns into Dan Marino? No, thats fine, go after Price in Free Agency, they show us again where their priorities are and it isnt the offense.

So last year when they siged Derrick Mason on day 1 of free agency and drafted Mark CLayton in the first round, what did it tell us about their priorities?
