But it has made certain that no player will be punished in the same way in the future. A provision in the six-year extension of the collective bargaining agreement between the players' union and the NFL's franchise owners, which was ratified by the owners here Wednesday night, prohibits a team from deactivating a player for disciplinary reasons." Gallen5862
The agreement said for Retirement and Refusal to play as only way to get part of signing bonus back. So under this scenario a player could be arrested and jailed. The player could argue that he is not retiring and that he is not refusing to play. Do they have a unable to play if jailed clause in the new CBA?

Neophyte
No cap relief for the Skins when Taylor is found guilty in Florida. Bummer. Ah but his contract was signed under the old CBA and so this should not be a problem. In fact, there is a specific clause in the contract regarding this very situation.
