airborneskins Posted March 9, 2006 Share Posted March 9, 2006 Hey airborne, I bet LD hasn't been in the back of many of those prize C-130's that we would get for LPW. I definitely never felt like I was jumping out of a "perfectly good airplane"!!! Nope.. If I saw one that wasn't leaking, I started worrying. I think that perfectly good airplanes are a myth. About 5 or 6 years ago, we started using civilian style lightweight two-man tents, thank God! i've been out for over 10 years now (hard to believe). back then, in addition to a shelter half, we were issued a piece of steel that we had to forge into a weapon of some sort and 2 pieces of leather that we had to make into boots :laugh: at least thats the way it seemed. glad to see the corps is catching up to 'modern' technology! i woke up several times either soaking wet or covered in snow....
