FoxSports: Raiders to interview Wisenhunt

Recommended Posts

The Oakland Raiders plan to interview Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt in the coming days for their coaching vacancy.

If Whisenhunt hits it off with Raiders owner Al Davis and senior personnel executive Michael Lombardi, things could progress quickly this week for the team to hire Norv Turner's successor.

If Wisenhunt gets named HC in Oakland, then Grimm will probably get bumped to OC in Pittsburgh, which obviously would put him one step closer to a head coaching position (next offseason, maybe?).

Straight from the Steelers website...

A graduate of Georgia Tech, Whisenhunt played nine seasons as a tight end/H-Back for the Atlanta Falcons (1985-88), Washington Redskins (1989-90) and New York Jets (1991-93). He caught 62 passes for 601 yards and six TDs and earned a reputation as a well-rounded tight end and special teams player.
