NorthernVAPirate Posted January 4, 2006 Share Posted January 4, 2006 I coached 5 on 5 NFL flag football last spring here in Leesburg for the first time and all I have to say is KEEP IT SIMPLE!! My team consisted of 9-11 year olds and I found out that in the first few games, while the kids were getting used to grabbing on to the flags, running plays were the most successful. Grizz Posted January 4, 2006 Share Posted January 4, 2006 I have a great play my team used. Have 4 guys line up tight on a far side with 1 guy behind them. That leaves you with the center and the QB. Depending what the defense does, you have three options. Throw a quick strike to the reciever behind the 4 blockers(ala the skins WR Screen) Have the center run a post or if you have a good running QB, just have him take off. When we ran it and they maned up it just left the qb with 1 person to beat. When they put an extra man on the center/QB it opened up the screen with the blockers.
