dgreen
While discussing Greg Williams and the possibility of him being our next coach, I wondered whether Gibbs ever said anything or did anything in regards to the Petitbon hiring. Did Gibbs suggest Petitbon as a good candidate? Did JKC ask Gibbs' opinion? I know someone here will remember. Any article links will be much appreciated. SkinsHokieFan
Here was the big thing Gibbs decided to retire in March of 1993 All of the good coaching possibilites were already hired, and basically Richie got the job by default because nobody was left to hire There were grumblings that JKC and Casserly would have gone after Parcells, had Gibbs retired say after the playoff game in January
dgreen
So, as far as you know, Gibbs didn't necessarily endorse Petitbon?
SB33
So, as far as you know, Gibbs didn't necessarily endorse Petitbon? Gibbs was the one to recommend Pettibone as his replacment.
