Dan T.
Scenario 1. New York on offense just before halftime. QB throws into the end zone. Receiver catches the ball, then drops it. Touchdown called. After review, the call stands. Touchdown. Scenario 2. New York on offense just before halftime. QB throws into the end zone. Receiver catches the ball, then drops it. Touchdown called. After review, the call is reversed. No touchdown. Scenario 1 is the Giants' J. Shockey, who gets drilled just after catching the pass and before his second foot hits the end zone. The ball pops out, yet a touchdown is signalled, AND upheld on review. Scenario 2 is the Jets' L. Coles, who catches the pass, gets one foot, then the other down in the end zone, then hits the ground and bobbles the ball. The touchdown call is overturned on review. Can anyone who saw both of these plays please explain how one is a touchdown and the other isn't?
XSean21TaylorX
yeah i saw that, and the only reason coles bobbled the ball was beacuse the DB had his hand on t he ball the entire time. but coles had control of the ball for the most part. jwebst1
I thought Coles' catch was a TD... didn't lose control until after he had made the catch (2 feet down, both in bounds)
