Average per rush less than theirs, altho we rushed for a ton. 1 sack given up. Good balance. No TO's. 5-5 inside red zone. 7 plays for 20+. Defensively gave up 2 long plays and 17 points, 3 penalties. 2 TO's forced. Short field = more points. 5 sacks, 5 run loses. Controlled line of scrimmage. ST did really good. Cornelious = concern(needs some time off this week practice He'll be in for game). Some others but nothing major. Taylor = slight ankle(might need some days off). Jordash Posted October 24, 2005 Share Posted October 24, 2005 Gibbs: Offense needs work, 2 Holding penalties and illegal subsititutions. Need to work on yards per carry. Good balance on offense. No turnovers and excellent Red Zone effectiveness. Defense is still giving up big plays. However we got two turnovers which helped our offense. We also had 5 sacks and a few tackles for losses. Special Teams played well. CORNELIUS is a concern, needs time to get ready. Salave'a (sp?) has a strained foot, probably will be ok. ST will be judged throughout practice this week. Question: 1st five weeks = lots of yards not lots of points? Gibbs: Shows that if we can win giveaway takeaway ratio we can get points and shorter field. He had his best week, O-key package( package he's in) we called a lot. Gibbs: Need good balance, run/pass. If they respect our pass then running is easier. Giants = huge step because its divisional game. Want to at some point in the future have a chance to win the division. They are playing extremely well, got a great qb who found his niche, wrs, etc. Maybe first in points? Question: John Hall? Gibbs: Continue to work on it. Up to Danny Smith. Hes kicking working out. Gibbs: Yep I tell our team this division will leave you black and blue, He was like well Philly won't win this won(came back and saw they won), same with Giants. Thought Dallas would win came back they lost. Great football. Great to be at 4-2. Games here will count big time. Question: Did you expect this dramatic turnaround? Gibbs: Still remains to be seen, but you hope and coach and play for. Worked hard in offseason, their dream is to play for something. Still early but you try and put yourself in position to get there. Tough stretch coming up. Tough to play at NY. Question: With the year Mark's having do you have any special pride with how u were getting bashed? Gibbs: I dont think so, I just feel happy for Mark. If you don't win games you get criticism.
