tr1
I'll agree that Westbrook is the KEY to the Eagles offense. But, you still haven't answered what kind of condition the Skins would be without Portis. How would Seattle be without Alexander? How would San Diego be without LT?In your zeal to slam the Eagles, you miss very obvious points which ruin your argument. The difference is that neither Portis, Alexander or LT are asking for more money...and their team hasn't told them no...
Danny Montana
I really think the Eagles want to extend Westbrook, they lead the league in extending players to their 2nd contracts. Of course the Eagles want to extend Westbrook, but only on their lowball terms. And this claim of "leading the league in extending players to their second contracts", if such a stat even exists, isn't relevant to this discussion. Everyone knows the common practice of the Eagles is to lock up their talented young players early, reworking existing deals before they reach free agency and locking up these players at what most often turns out to be bargain prices. But this practice doesn't apply in the Westbrook situation. The Eagles missed thier chance to sign Westbrook to one of these types of deals. The Eagles now face the prospect of having to pay Westbrook market value, which scares the hell out of them. And even their reported offer was several million below LaMont Jordan's contract. The bottom line here is that the Eagles are sitting on $12 million in cap space. If they are planning, as Eagles fans claim, on using all this cap space to extend their key players, why not extend a vital player in that offense like Westbrook? What exactly are the Eagles waiting for? It's not like his price is coming down after weeks where he puts up 200+ yards of offense.
Westbrook36
The difference is that neither Portis, Alexander or LT are asking for more money...and their team hasn't told them no... Actually, your argument is if Westbrook got hurt, the Eagles would be ordinary. Can't you keep track of your assinine statements? Oh yeah, Alexander is asking for more money in a long term contract. But why would any of us expect you to provide correct information when you make your posts?

What do you think he wants after that ?
