D'Pablo
Lavar Arrington into an everydown lineman? Wouldn't he get more playing time and possibly do more damage?
HailYeah
He really wouldn't like that. But he'd probably do it if it was best for the team.
E-Dog Night
I think he would have a hard time taking on blocks from offensive tackles and pulling guards on running plays.
D'Pablo
Make him gain weight, and start practicing against lineman.
GURU
Man, I get irked everytime I hear the "Make LaVar a defensive end" talk. The guy is a linebacker, through and through. He's got a linebacker's body. He's got a linebacker's mentality. LaVar Arrington was born to play LINEBACKER. Most of this "he's too undisciplined" or "he freelances too much" talk is a bunch of bunk, too. Every single season, by the time he learns his assignments, he's got a new defensive coordinator. Now that he's got some stability in that area, he just needs to get--and stay--healthy. Once LaVar gets 100% healthy -- and that's the reason for his lack of playing time, so far -- he's going to be a STAR linebacker in Williams' defense. FranklinNoble
You must be joking. Arrington would have about a 15 minute career as a defensive lineman. He needs open space to operate. He'd get killed as a full-time DE.
kingarthur65
I dont like this idea either. I met Kurt Gouveia at a bar last year. We talked about LaVar and his assessment was that LaVar is not good in space. Meaning that he doesnt always make the right decision about when to drop back in coverage and when to attack. I think that if he were always attacking he would be a much better impact player.
