jimster
Denver Signs Wide Receiver Terrell http://sports.iwon.com/news/09072005/v1392.html Sep 7, 9:45 PM (ET) Email this Story DENVER (AP) - The Denver Broncos signed free agent wide receiver David Terrell on Wednesday to take the spot vacated when Jerry Rice retired. Terrell, a fifth-year player, was released by New England on Saturday after signing with the team on April 5. He was a first-round draft choice of the Chicago Bears and eighth overall in 2001, but never made much of a contribution with the Bears. "It is nice to have him in and get him started," coach Mike Shanahan said. "He will get a chance to adapt this week and start to get used to a different language." He has 128 career catches for 1,602 yards with nine touchdowns in 53 regular-season games. He is one of six receiver on the Denver roster. The Broncos have Rod Smith, Ashley Lelie, Darius Watts, Charlie Adams and Todd Devoe.
Gallen5862
That was not a bad signing for them this late in the off season. I wonder if they activate him this week or wait til week two.
jimster
Bellicheck dropped him as soon as they traded for Andre Davis. - Shanahan doesn't seem to mind taking risks on players.
Patrick86L
Even though he has a bad attitude and issues off the field, I like Terrell. He is a former standout reciever from a high school 15 min away from me and one of the great Michigan recievers. Good pickup if you can control him... bulldog
the fact Terrell couldn't make it with the Patriots even as a backup to me says that he is still in denial about his NFL career. I don't think the guy is committed to working at 100% and believe he is still viewing himself as a top pick and celebrity and therefore not a guy that HAS to do these other things to make it in the NFL. not the kind of attitude to bring with him to NE where they win with wide receivers starting in the defensive backfield
