Zero chance that happens. Even if he managed to hold onto a small share (unlikely). The chances the owners would approve him buying out the majority owner down the road to take over control are less than zero. They know how toxic Dan is, they just don’t want to rock the boat right now.

I always expected word to come out by 3/20 if anything was going to happen at the March owners meeting but a Friday news dump for something like this would be very on brand for Dan. 🤔

50/50. If Dan tells Bezos he can bid then he could be legitimately looking for the highest offer. Alternatively, he could be looking to include Bezos to get Harris/Rales to make their best/final offer. I can’t imagine the optics/feedback from BOA would be good if Dan gives the green light to include Bezos and then turns him down if he has the highest offer by several hundred million. Then again, I’m not entirely sure Dan cares. 🤷‍♂️

They know they have Dan over a barrel with his debt and no govt willing to deal with him on a new stadium. They are content to get him out on his own terms as much as we would all love to see him thrown out on his ass

I sure as hell hope that’s not the bar. The Fords and Bidwells are better than Danny but either of them would be a death knell to this organization with the shape we’re in now. Fertitta by all accounts isn’t that guy to put the huge investment needed to turn this franchise around.

Take some solace in the fact that if Dan were truly focused on making that the goal that he’s so awful at making a good decision that he might accidentally pick the next Rooney family. That said, when the main arguement against you being the worst owner in the NBA is the lack of tenure compared to Dolan, etc…that’s not somebody I want within a country mile of this team. I would say at a minimum if it’s Fertitta you have to take a wait and see approach if you were already on the fence. I certainly wouldnt blindly embrace the team with a clean slate.

Fertitta reads like Dan Snyder lite, just minus the harassment. If he’s the guy then you can probably put a nail one coffin of resurrecting this franchise.

I still think there’s a strong possibility that a deal is agree on principle before March 27 even if it might be early summer before it’s approved. Dan can’t afford to lose what little leverage he has here. Of course it’s Dan so expect him to take the dumbest route possible and prove us all wrong.

The other owners may be thinking they have Dan in a box here. Either he agrees to a deal very soon or they vote him out. Some would say he would tie it up in court for years but that would cost millions in legal fees and at the end of it he either loses the franchise or he keeps it but his finances are in even worse shape then they are now and he still can’t afford to pay his debts or build a new stadium. Feels like the smart thing would be for Dan to get an agreement in principle before March 27 as that’s likely to be peak value but it’s Dan so who the hell knows what he’ll do.

No chance in hell that Dan is capable of that kind of introspection.

Owning the asset doesn’t mean a whole lot if you can’t sell off at least part of it to generate cash flow and who is going to partner with Dan right now. Even before todays revelations that was a long shot.

I’ll take Maske’s word over whichever Baghdad Bob spoke on Dans behalf to Perez. The NFL’s no comment should carry more weight than anything said by Dans team.

I could be reading it wrong but this leaking feels like Bezos is telling that that he’s going to be in the owners club sooner rather than later via Seattle. So you can box me out and screw yourself out of a half billion give or take or just suck it up and screw off after the transaction is done…

I think you’re where I was several years ago. The thing that probably nudged me was having an 8 year old son finally getting into football and realizing rooting with him for his team was far more enjoyable than rooting for anything tied to Dan. I was never going to push him to being a Washington fan, knowing how awful Dan is.

I can say I was on the verge of leaving entirely so I could start rooting for my sons team (Steelers). The day Danny announces he isn’t selling is the day I’m gone for good. Not selling at this point would be considerably worse than just never making the announcement that you were exploring options. It’s like wrapping up a PlayStation box for your kid at Christmas but when they open the box it’s just full of fruit of the loom.

I think there’s a lot of that. People who were nearly out getting sucked back in by Dan selling. Him backing out would probably be the breaking point for all but the most ardent supporters.

Screw that, get him out of here completely. I don’t want the vile POS owning even a fraction of 1% of this franchise.
