  1. I don't put any stock in Kyle's mock, it's rather goofy and reeks of recency bias because the combine just happened. I get it but it's silly.

Also trading up for a QB in this draft would be the absolute most atrocious decision of all time. I already don't really trust Ron when it comes to evaluating talent (he's a former linebacker who couldn't recognize the issues with Jamin Davis) but trading UP for a QB in this draft is a fireable offense unless you have a legit plan for him and are committing to him for 3+ years. If you are giving up assets for a QB in THIS draft you better be sure he is 100% the guy. Because moving up means you are passing up on all other options at the QB position for at least 2-3 years for someone from a small school with medicore tape.

He’s been asking multiple times and hasn’t shot it down. Other teams have shot it down.

Ron is interested in all QB options, they’ve said this 100x you’re in denial.

I'm not in denial abiut anything. I am sure they will ask but again Ron hasn't confirmed anything which was my point. Everything else is just speculation

The both of best seems to be Willis.  Has the rocket arm, burners to run plus he scored a 32 on his Wonderlic.  What's not to like?  When I heard him say what you stated took me to Willis.

Willis is not a pocket passer lol. That is where he needs the most development so def don't think that fits him best.

And I don't know where that Wonderlic rumor came from since they don't even administer it anymore but assume it was somehow (purposely) leaked to Rapoport

Who can do both?  Malik Willis.  Your thoughts on what he was saying, VV?

I think he was saying you have guys who are pocket passers (Strong obviously) and guys who are primarily athletic (Willis obviously) and ideally they wanted someone to do both which I assume is some variation Pickett, Corral, Howell, maybe Ridder.

There is nobody who is more of a standard pocket passer than Strong and Willis is the most atheltic. So him saying he wants kind of the best of both worlds was interesting.

But if Willis and Pickett are gone who do you go with at 11? Do you even go with a QB?

McShay said he talked to several NFL personnel who have Corral rated higher than both.

But either way, if you take Willis knowing he needs time you can't bail after 1 or 2 seasons. Because then why even draft him expecting something else?

  6. If we take Willis, everyone is comfortable having a 3 or 4 year plan for him like the Bills had for Josh Allen? Meaning passing on every QB for the next few years. Because taking Willis means you know that he needs time (Paulsen says two years, Allen didn't come into his own until year 3) and you are willing to give him that time.

If you make that commitment to him when everyone is saying he needs to go to a patient team, then you can't bail on him after year 1 if he is terrible. Everyone has said he is the LEAST pro ready QB and needs the most time, so if you take him you do so with the knowledge and understanding that everyone may have to practice years of patience and pass on other good QB prospects.

  7. If traded I think Broncos give up 2 1st, a 2nd and a player (probably Jerry Jeudy). The good thing for the Broncos is they have both Courtland Sutton and Tim Patrick locked up longterm so they don't need Jeudy at all. They can just replace him via the draft and the Packers would be getting a young player with upside who is still on a rookie deal - and they need receivers. It's a win-win for both teams

  8. Questions for those who have watched Pickett....Matt Waldman did a breakdown of Corral and in it he mentioned Pickett and Corral are basically QB 1A and 1B for him but what concerns him about Pickett is how he panics when he sees unblocked interior pressure. He said he immaediately abandons the pocket, drops his shoulders, his mechanics become a mess - has anyone else noticed this?

Waldman talks about it at 42:00

I’m pretty sure that ARodgers bought a bunch of property in Tennessee recently. I think that area fits with his beliefs a little better than Denver, and he split with his fiancé (who I think was in Denver).

For these reasons, I think the Titans will land him if he leaves. Packers would get Tannehill and still be really good.

Rapoport said yesterday the only team that is in the running besides the Packers is the Broncos. He doesn't seem interested in any other teams

Also he and Shailene have been spotted together several times since their supposed breakup so likely working things out or still together and she lives in Boulder just 20 minutes away from Denver.

Those can be corrected with footwork and ball handling.

Accuracy is not some easy fix. I don't know where people are getting this from. Just because Josh Allen did it (and it took him 3 years) most QBs who are not accurate in college don't magically become accurate in the NFL. They stay inaccurate.  It's good that Ridder knows his accuracy is bad and is working on it but those are NOT easy fixes

Also I am sure the Giants felt they could fix Daniel Jones fumbling issues and yet....

Apparently he dominated the testing portion of the combine. I saw two mock drafts after the QB skills test where they have us taking Ridder. But it will still come down to where Ron's people have Ridder on their board instead.

I would be livid if we used the #11 pick on a consensus 2nd round pick with accuracy issues and fumbling problems just because he ran around a cone well.

If the draft plays out like this then we will end up with Ridder - I am assuming Carolina and Denver are the only teams that go QB before our pick.

Ridder didn't have the same "Wow" moments with his arm that Willis did, and he wasn't as accurate in making all the throws the way Pickett was. But he did more than enough overall to make himself the No. 3 QB on the board. Given the high number of QB-needy teams, Willis, Pickett and Ridder should all be gone by No. 20 overall, or when the post-Ben Roethlisberger Steelers pick.

People are getting way too caught up amd have recency bias. No way is Ridder the 3rd QB off the board. The tape still matters A LOT.

There is not a single legit analyst that has Ridder going that high and 99% have him in round 2
