Vintage Washington snatching defeat from the jaws of victory- 2

Jumping back slightly, to have such little confidence in yourself that you think the only way to achieve winning a SB is as a coordinator, damn.
He might be an extremely talented OC but that is not the mentality this franchise needs, best of luck Ben.

For me it goes:
1. Mike Macdonald
2. Bobby Slowik
3. Mike Vrabel
Somewhere I don’t wanna go. Dan Quinn

Quinn would be fine.
On a scale of flaccid to erect, the thought of Quinn being our HC gives me a mangina

Like most other Johnson is target numero uno.
I personally don't like the idea of having a DC as head coach when drafting a QB round 1, BUT Mike Macdonald is that good that I'd be happy if it was him.

Dan Campbell post game said 'I told these guys, this may have been our only shot'.
Sounds like a guy who knows he's losing one of the best offensive minds in the NFL 😏

Slowik and a rookie QB suddenly looks like an excellent combination, doesn't it?
The unknown factor with any of these guys is their managerial prowess. The HC isn't supposed to be the guy drawing up the plays or doing the frontline teaching; he's managing the guys who do that. It's a completely different skill set. That's why the interviews are so important.
Going under the radar because all the buzz around Johnson, I’d be absolutely delighted if Slowik got the gig.- 1

I’m absolutely fine with going Slowik over Johnson, if he replicated having a young QB carve up the best D in the NFL in the playoffs FedEx would be bouncing

He still has a year on his contract. Would require compensation.
John Feinstein said the other day on the Junkies that he would trade the #2 overall pick for him. He wasn’t joking
As entertaining as Feinstein is, I always take what he says with a large amount of salt -
They just said on the half time show that Mike Tomlin will evaluate his future at the end of the season, obviously could mean absolutely nothing but if he decides to move on then surely we’d be sounding it out at least.
-
It’s Johnson or Slowik for me. If we had a vet QB I would entertain a Defensive HC more, but we do need foresight here and an offensive mind that won’t leave whichever young QB we draft in the lurch if there’s a bit of early success.

Weaver would be a good get IMO, but he has the assistant HC title in BAL I think. Not sure if that gets in the way.
I think JP Finlay says the DC is still a promotion up from DL Coach so it wouldn’t technically stop Weaver making the move if he wanted to. -

Hopefully they can land Johnson but I think the bozo in Carolina is going to break the bank for him.
Johnson would have to be seriously stupid to consider going there. He has two choices before him already …Washington Commanders - New Owner known for patience and building the right way, New GM known for drafting well and attacking Free Agency well with a lot of success as well as SB rings, Number 2 pick in the draft and a chance to mould a new young QB, massive cap space to bring in some of his own guys, what I’d suspect will be a good wage.
Carolina Panthers - Owner who is known for his lack of patience and interfering as well as childish antics (sound familiar?), Unknown GM situation but unlikely to be as good as Peters, no first round pick in the draft, a QB coming off a rough opening season and having to learn another playbook, a team projected to have less than half the cap space that Washington does, an extortionate wage maybe even the highest in the NFL.
If he goes to Carolina it’s effectively for money purposes.

I’m super excited, this is competence that this organisation hasn’t seen in decades. Quality and efficiency

HC job has been decided. Travis picks EB as next Commanders HC. It's a good thing he's not running the search.
>>Chiefs' Travis Kelce Backs Eric Bieniemy for Commanders HC: 'Give My Guy a Chance'
Will this finally be the year Eric Bieniemy lands a head coaching job?
Bieniemy, offensive coordinator of the Washington Commanders, is expected to be considered for the team's vacant head coaching position this offseason, and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce believes he deserves a chance to show what he can do.
When responding to a question asking if Bieniemy should get a shot at Washington's head coaching job, Kelce said on his New Heights podcast, presented by Wave Sports + Entertainment, alongside brother and Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce (1:09:30 mark):
"Man, let's f---king go man. The Washington Fighting Bieniemy's, man. Give my guy a chance, man. ... I think they should hire him. I mean, give my guy a chance. I think he proved that he can kind of come out from under the helm of coach [Andy] Reid. ... I know EB. He gets the best out of everybody. He's one of the best coaches I've ever had. I think the Commanders should give him a chance."<<

I’m just saying look at the drafts. There are a lot of misses. I am not trying to pile on Peters but I believe the Ravens, Cowboys and Eagles have higher hit percentages. Cowboys have hit Micah, Ceedee, and Tyler Smith 3 years in a row.
And yet aren’t as good as SF? The draft is just one aspect of this role. One that Peters is still seemingly really good at when you look at the likes of Deebo, Hufanga, Purdy etc etc -

Did people look up Adam Peters career? He drafted Brock Osweisler and Paxton Lynch. Look at his Denver drafts.
Ok and a ton of good ones too? This whole reaching into anyone’s past for a bust is so tedious, literally no one gets it right every time. The problem with this organisation is we’ve got it right none of the time- 1

Eberflus staying means Caleb is still in play for Washington, if he was gone they were 100% drafting QB.
Now it’ll depend on Eberflus’ relationship with Fields, I suspect the first big tell on what Chicago are going to do will be who they hire at OC.
Moving Towards our Future Front Office and Coaching Hires. All the Way to the Water Boy - Adam Peters Hired as GM! The Mighty Quinn is HC Kliff Kingsbury as OC. Joe Whitt jr at DC.
