This pick should be unanimously celebrated. It's the type of pick teams that are in the playoffs more often than not always seem to make. Strictly from the point of view of interior pass rush, both from a fundamental and athletic point of view, he has no weaknesses. Elite upper body explosion, sledge hammers for hands, and oh by the way those sledge hammers are absolute poetry in motion. Be happier.

I'll be in here printing more receipts than Starbucks when it's obvious what a genius pick this was.

Hoping for a completely out of left field pick to really kick off the dysfunction in here.

My guess is an OT that isn't a household name but has high upside or AD Mitchell

Dude, I KNOW he can't hang with Terry man on man. Yes, to think otherwise is asinine. No question. But I said "HELPING to shut down". We have one stud WR and a huge question mark in JD. Ever hear of double teaming? And it makes it a lot easier for Philly now that they have two great CB prospects. We helped their cause a lot. I don't like that.
Your words were "we helped Philly shut down". Apparently I misunderstood.

1. Don't appreciate the "junior" comment. I'm pushing 50.
2. Please don't ask me to calm down. I'm not sitting here frothing at the mouth, but I'm not happy with how we helped Philly one bit. It's not carved in stone that fans have to like all their teams' moves when they initially happen.
The idea that Cooper DeJean will lock down Terry McLaurin, who was burning pro bowl CBs left and right as a rookie, and you say like it's already happened no less, is absolutely asinine

I'm starting to think a good 50% of these draft threads is posters getting mad when we don't draft one of their yearly man crushes.

He BETTER be a beastly ass player. Because we just helped Philly shut down the only two real WRs on this team, and that is assuming JD has a big bounce back year.
You've already decided Cooper DeJean is SHUTTING DOWN Terry McLaurin? Take a breath man.

Don't be surprised if we take Marshawn Kneeland with one of the next two picks. Peters will stick to his board.

BAP sounds great in theory but keep it in mind when hes on the bench and our secondary is getting abused
Is he playing for one season and leaving?

I’d love Beebe.
But Dejean and Kool Aid are still there…
One will be gone when the Rams pick…
Those we great picks too and that shows what a great position we're in. I really like the idea of two trench dogs with these two picks. Would be on brand for Peters too.

Give me Cooper Beebe at 40. I'm so tired of not being a team other teams hate playing against.

Do we need a short what's the point of the draft tutoring session?

Question for those that watch lots of prospect film: If I said I have a feeling we might take a tackle that’s high upside but not necessarily one of the well known prospects being talked about for these second round picks, who are some players that come to mind?

To quote RG3 in a recent vid
"Football is a 100% injury rate. All positions"
There is truth to that. You don't wanna be the chronically injured guy for sure, but nobody is gonna avoid injuries altogether either.
Even Kickers find a way to get hurt, and they pretty much just show up and collect a check.
You’d think some people are expecting Kingsberry to run power with him 10 times a game. I don’t even think we’ll see anything like the scheme they put together for RG3’s rookie year.

1) he literally is a running QB, everyone including Jayden himself has talked about his running as a weapon2) nobody has said he’s *only* a running QB, people have questioned his size/durability/ability to protect himself and people have critiqued his passing as they have every prospect, but nobody has said Jayden is a running back who can’t throw
3) we all know what you’re referring to and nobody has trafficked in those dog whistles. It’s like you’re fabricating those things specifically to make this call-out. I will leave it at that.
More than anything, I’m glad he’s here because he was clearly Peters’ and Quinn’s choice and that’s what we want — investment and buy-in from the key stakeholders involved.
Now let’s put this young man in a position to succeed and hope he reaches his electrifying potential!
If I missed anyone acknowledging the fact that he’s arguably the most polished pocket passer among the first round QBs in their critique then my bad. Confirmation bias is not a dog whistle and I’ll point it out when I see it every single time. The poster I was responding to also felt the need to say that he would prefer “a Payton Manning or a Tom Brady”. Am I allowed to say that’s confirmation bias or is that a dog whistle too?

Why bother berg.
Because something is wrong with me and I need to try to get to the bottom of why someone is dodging a question.

I have. Not worth screaming into the crowd of blind optimism anymore.
What specifically about his game has led you to these conclusions?

Ok.... i have watched plenty. Dont assume to know me
Well then that's extra tragic because that should tell you he's not strictly a running QB

Welcome to DC young man!! Ya'll gonna remember this draft as the one we finally transformed this organization ON the field. What an amazing time to be a Washington fan!!!!
Dude WTF is your problem?
My guess is he didn't watch JD a whole lot and as a result has pegged him as a running QB. Sports fandom in the social media era is being right first and supporting the team second.

Will you ever fill us in as to why?

Welcome Jayden! Looking forward to seeing your skills and gifts translate to the NFL!
To those that are pissy about it: I just don't understand how you can be so sure that this was a bad pick. There's literally no guarantee that ANY player will succeed or bust. To be so disappointed or personally offended that they ignored your choice is a head scratcher. Nobody can predict the future. What gets me is that there seems to be a foregone conclusion that he's just another "running QB". I'm not sure I want to delve into why that foregone conclusion has been reached though cause I'm fairly sure I know the answer.
