Here’s one of my issues with EB. When he came from KC… he didn’t really bring any of his guys. And he’s had trouble (prolonged hires) filling out a few positions on the offensive side. You’d figure a guy coming there with a brand new offensive overhaul… on a short-term audition… would bring a few guys to help ease the transition. But it’s mostly Rivera leftovers still.

It makes me wonder if he’d be able to fill an entire coaching staff with competent coaches.

I mean, the guys interviewed 13x in the past few years. Shouldn’t he have a short list of his guys he’d bring over with promotions?

    Theres some red flags there.

I think if EB brought in a handful of guys then Ron would have been fired weeks ago.  I think Ron intentionally kept the staff intact for his sake and the players sake. Very hard for Ron to hire someone he doesn't know, much less replacing his Carolina guys with strangers as well.

But on the plus side....I think he could still run the offense and still manage the team pretty well as a HC.  I am very hopeful that he gets a chance to step in as interim HC if we fire Ron.  Our defensive side of the ball is less enticing since Sweat and Young are gone, but I think he could piece together decent staff on defense.

  2. Let Chase earn his contract like everyone else.  He comes off as a diva and I think Ron has grown tired of Chase.

He came off as a spark plug and an energetic presence....but now he's a butt plug who comes off as a diva.  He is Orakpo 2.0 right now.  I am a big fan of Young's potential, but he has to ball out.  It's just a shame that Chase or Sweat will likely be gone next year.

Will be nice to have the extra ammo at DB. Forbes, Fuller, St. Juste and Martin is a damn good CB room. I mean damn good. Cannot wait to watch them in action. Maybe give our DL that extra tick to get there a whole lot more.

Don't forget about Forrest!  He was a ballhawk last year.  Then you throw in Curl...man this is going to be a dominant defense.  I also think Barton is a healthier version of Holcomb too.  If Davis continues to grow then Forbes completes this defense.  Also, don't forget about Percy...I think he's a dog too.

A tall TE could probably fill the role that Sims played, as much as I like him.  So maybe Cole Turner

Nah not really.  I think Dyami Brown is the guy who stepped up last year and showed that he could replace Cam's production on special teams and as a deep threat.  But I do think Cole could be the red zone threat that Cam was for us.

Sims was a really good core player who could do a lot that went unnoticed.

What is the status with Dalton Schultz? Not sure why we don't kick the tires there. I think Logan Thomas is likely a shell of his former self and is making too much money to justify his level of play. Would see Schultz as an upgrade if we don't have to pay too much money. Could flourish in an EB offense.

Our luck..Shultz will probably re-sign with the Cows on a 1 year - 1 million deal.  I think if someone doesn't offer then he will gladly go back to Dallas.  I'm hoping we at least kick the tires or attempt to jack the price up like we did with Cooper a few years ago.

Carr has a no-trade clause so he basically gets veto power over where he goes. I think it's highly unlikely that he'll void that for us. The only way that won't be applicable is if they can't find any trade partners are are forced to cut him instead. But I'm assuming that is their absolute last resort if they can't work something out.

I think he'll end up with the Jets, Colts, or maybe Saints...though the Saints are also in cap hell. Carolina could be another possibility, depending on what they think of Corral.

If we trade for anyone it will be Justin Fields.  If we want to be a run first team then that is the guy who can strike fear in the opponent.  Howell is probably legit but we have seen what Fields can do with lesser talent around him.  Only way I pass on a first round swap for Fields is if it is like the '18 draft when Derwin, Edmunds and Vita fell in the draft.  Sam will be a free agent in '25 and Fields would be on his 5th year option in '25.  I think I would want to roll with the dynamic playmaker rather than rolling with an unknown Howell.  Would be horrible to see us struggle at QB for another year.

It wasn't as violent as it looked, but it was completely unnecessary and so easy to go so wrong safety wise. I know it wasn't bad this time, but all it takes is Ridgeway or the RB to get hit from behind, lose his grip, and then dump him straight onto his head. It should be flagged, as odds are something real bad will happen if that move keeps being allowed.

It's awesome in the old game NFL Blitz, but not in real life.

I think he had a wrestling flashback...but regardless, Ridgeway is an AMAZING addition.  He's a great run defender...not much of a pass rusher but he's a beast of a run stuffer.  He's one nasty son of a gun

  8. #1 free agent next year better be Sean Payton

I think Norv has a lot of potential as a coach but needs some guidance.  Ron has to go and Del Rio should have been gone a while ago.

Wentz really has to go....shame we gave up so much for Wentz.  I would bench Wentz so we don't give up a very early second round pick.  It's just not worth it considering we might end up with the #1 overall pick.

I’m in the camp that Payne is more important than Sweat. I’m looking at it strictly from a performance point. Sure Montez is a good player but he still hasn’t flashed as a player offenses have to game plan for. Will he ever become a Von Miller or even a Clowney type? I highly doubt it. He may get us double digit sacks occasionally but does that mean we should sign him to a $20 mil deal? Clowney has played the last 2 years on a one year around $11 mill per deals.

We need to let go of someone on the line and Sweat would be my choice. Most teams have one great pass rusher and Chase is probably gonna be that guy. Bring in and rotate some young hungry defensive ends.

Nah....Montez is the guy.  I really like Payne but we had Settle and Ion on the team that could have been decent replacements.  We don't have a Sweat replacement who can stop the run and still be a dynamic pass rusher.  I would extend Sweat before he puts it all together.

Clowney is a guy we could have as a replacement, but who is coming here on a bargain deal, much less on any kind of deal.  We better keep the guys who want to be here.

Man, do you remember Foster in college.  Wasted talent. I would give him a call at he very least.  I hope that he is doing well as a person first and foremost.

I thought he was going to be generational.

Reuben Foster is the best college linebacker I have ever seen.  Reuben was a Ferrari and everyone else was a taxi cab.  I have never seen someone with the explosiveness, acceleration, strength and violence that Reuben had.  Rare talent but injury prone.  I would love to see him get another chance, especially with us.

I'm disappointed the team hasn't brought in more RBs. It's a super thin group, with maybe 3 bona fide NFLers. One injury can mess that up fast. Even a decent UDFA would have been nice.

One of my favorite RB's who has a troubled time sticking to a roster is Phillip Lindsay.  I think the kid is dynamite as a runner and receiver and seems like a great kid.
