  1. Not today. Prayers to Dak, dudes been a positive ambassador for the game, gets hated on for lack of success despite his draft status by people like me and he remains positive and the look I saw on his face felt like a kid who'd be bullied for years but maintained a positive attitude through and through but then something like a serious life event happens in his life and finally all that hate finally gets the best of him and he's wondering why??? He's a good dude even if he wears the silver and blue and I hated to see his reaction.. All the best to him and hope he comes back 100% so we can beat him legit...

    Get well Dak..

    we're not playing him much

Looking at our roster, we have Nate Orchard and Jordan Brailford on PS in addition to James Smith-Wilson on the roster at DE but all are just that DE.  I think I'd sign Ty McGill for the Eagles PS for our fourth DT.  He played well against us

You know what, here's the thing, he went from ST to barely contributor like 2 sacks his second year to 44 tackles and 4 sacks last year, he's doubled everything since he joined us.... I feel maybe he's due for a breakout season. I dont know if its this year but he's been slowly progressing upward, maybe his prime is further down the road..

It is truly scary that our DL is still our best position group even minus Ioan and Young.

I just can't decide if its because its so good or we're so bad in other spots. Probably a little of both.

I think most skins fans will agree we're looking forward to seeing Settle get some serious playing time.. We've seen the potential but he wasn't getting reps with the big 3 in front of him.. I will miss the hell outta Matty I but I'm looking just as forward to what Tim will bring to the table. Lets not forget the kid is in his 3rd year in the league and just turned 23.. That's insane, that's the age most rookies come INTO the league, yet he has 2 years in the league under his belt already at that age..

I think we need to commit to AG, he needs a minimum of 15 touches a game imo. The whole gameplan seemed disjointed and lost, initially.   Barber should not be getting 17 touches imo. Empower the kid and lets see what he has. McKissic is no CT. Let 24 get busy.

I mean that's great in theory, my only concern is at that rate he'll have as many touches by week 5 and 6 as he had in his entire college career. To make that jump in touches and hits from the college level to the pro level, with no mini camp or preseason for him to start learning how to take care of his body for the long season, you are asking a lot out of him. I'm beyond worried about our running game since Barber didn't impress, Mckissic I'll give a pass since he didn't get many touches and was open on a few pass plays Haskins should have looked his way and didn't and forced some bad passes to him when he was blanketed. And of course Love was a scratch.. A young QB needs a run game to help his development and we have no real semblance of one.. Unless the plan is to bring Love in later to help out, we're one injury away from having some serious problems..

The word is out. He can't pass block, which is understandable since he has very little experience at RB. I don't think we're gonna see a whole ton of him this season and if we're gonna see any of him it'll probably be being lined up as a WR.. Remember how long it took for us to bring CT along and he had experience as a RB...

I hate the way people compare kids coming out of college to only All pro elite players or Hofer ALL THE TIME. Just once I'd like to hear someone say you know what such n such QB reminds me of a better version of Steve Bono, you know who said RB reminds me of Bam Morris or Ron Dayne in their prime, or hell Napolean Kaufman or Robert Smith or a Joe Washington... Or you know who Chase reminds me of. Ken Harvey..

Drives me nuts when rookies are compared to players  the league never saw before the great they are compared to played and haven't seen since they left the game..Lawrence Taylor changed the game when came into the league. New positions on offense were created just to deal with him, blocking schemes and passing offenses had to change to deal with him. He created a new position. Only a handful of players have ever done that and yet every year some random kid is irresponsibly thrown into the same hemisphere as those handful of greats who literally change the game..

All I am saying here is that on paper our D upfront was supposed to be very good, excellent,  but did not perform to expectations from what I saw.  Stats can be misleading particularly when it comes to sacks.  And I watched every pathetic game. It was not consistent.

We need some real Pro Bowl caliber guys IMO. Yeah look at the 1991 team, a lot of studs on both sides of the ball.

I look at our O and I think we have a stud in Terry McLaurin.  I look at Chase Young and I see another.

I think that is coaching is a MAJOR factor in teams success. Scheme. Preparedness. Accountability and Execution. Our D coaches have been rather mediocre IMO since well Gregg Williams.

So why do want Young then if sacks are misleading???

And I love Mclaurin as well but what are we gonna do when defenses roll their coverages his way and shut him down next year? Cause that's what I'd do since we have nothing else for defenses to worry about?

Drafting for need is how you tend end up with lots of decent players and no standouts...aka the Redskins for a long time now. Every once in a while a positional need and an elite once in a decade talent combine, but sometimes they don't. And when they don't, you take the elite prospect.

That's what the 49ers did. DE wasn't a need for them...they'd invested a ton in their DL already. But they took Bosa because he was an elite difference maker. I don't think they're sorry about it.

Take the potential perennial All-Pro and then continue to build. Nobody is expecting this team to be finished building in one draft.

You know what, I'm probably just gonna contradict myself while countering this take, but if you look at NE, they've gotten by just fine not being able to draft top prospects.. It goes back to coaching and scheme. At the same time that counters my point about trading back for picks when they can find legit talent in FA with solid cheap signings and finding guys later in the draft.

In terms of nobody expecting this team to be finished building in one draft, then when are we gonna be done? The Dline beef we drafted needs to get paid soon and some decisions are gonna have to be made..

And that is the point.  We may not be world beaters to begin with but i actually like how our defense would look with Chase Young.  It would really round it out. The biggest question right now on the D is at LB and FS IMO. Getting consistent pressure upfront helps takes some pressure off the secondary.

I think just having decent coaches is a big plus.  I would just not want to pass on Chase Young.

Really. Explain to me the '04 defense that didn't have a single guy with more than 6 sacks yet was 4th is points allowed (265 points in contrast the '91 team gave up 224 less than a FG per game more) despite having an offense that was just as bad as the '19's offense if not worse.. And to go on your point about getting to the QB helping the secondary then how bad was our secondary then if we had just 4 LESS sacks than the '91 team and yet we gave up 28 almost 30 points a game???? Does that not support that we need more help than just in an area we're already good at???

How bout scheme and coaching and overall team play instead of relying on a couple of players..

I can't vouch for this site's legitimacy but I think this is the forum you were looking for: https://www.reddit.com/r/badideas/

Look if you can trade back AND get C.Young no one would argue with that.. But I think your  https://www.reddit.com/r/badideas/ would also apply if you think this team doesn't have huge holes you can fix it with a bunch of day 3 draft picks..

  10. We have so many other needs on this team, you want to draft a kid to fill a need we don't even NEED? 46 sacks in '19 and '18. Only 4 less than the '91 defense, most sacks since the '00 defense. Getting to the QB was the only thing our franchise worse defense could do last year.. What are we gonna do when opposing defenses roll their coverage's and shut down T.Mac this season and Haskins has no one else to throw it too??? O wait he'll be on his back since we have no Oline to protect him. No TE depth, no 3rd down back, no shutdown CB, no FS. If you think we can fix this team with C.Young and a bunch of back end day 2 and day 3 players, with all our problems. You're nutz...

The last thing I want to be is the Bears with Khalil Mack getting paid on a decent defense that's being wasted because your offense blows and have no draft picks to fix it fast enough. How many times have see seen this in the NFL??

Look at Preston Smith, he was a no show here mostly, now he has 4.5 sacks in 3 games. We need a DC that knows how to use his guys...

I would disagree with you on that.. He had his moments.. The Philly game where he had what 3 sacks on Jason Peters that helped us win the division?? He went from an 8-9 sack per season kinda guy to what 4.5 last year and he wanted THAT kind of money?? Most of us werent mad he left..

Apparently the game plays a Jets fans booing sound effect when you draft that 3 kicker in a row. God I love this game...

  14. I should have reworded my comment and said 9-6-1 and out of the playoffs. Cause going 3-2 the rest of the way out is very doable.. Arizona on the road, NY at home, not to mention Carolina despite their record aren't getting blown out by anyone...Just about all their games are decided on the final possession.

I like the color rush. Only a handful of throwbacks are good anyway. Leave them in the past where they belong

I saw some pics of the color rush, they looked pretty sweet to me. As for the old school uni's I would like to see a modern take on them. The Jets and Giants got it right..Honestly I love the 75th anniversary ones. Brown helmet, two color schemes and thats it.. I wish we could wear them on the road too.
