  1. I do not believe that we are going to find the franchise quarterback this year without overspending in my eyes.  The draft my have a Jones fall to us, or it’s a later flier. So we need someone to compete with what we have, with the same kind of mobility and skill set, and build through the draft both the offense and defense. Getting into the playoffs this year was fun, it did hurt the draft obviously. Though I will never advocate to loose for the draft pick.

I don't think anyone on this thread isn't a Heinicke supporter.  But for me I want whatever Rivera wants.  And that goes double for the guys he has in house.   I figure he would have a zillion more data points on his own players than we would especially for a guy like Heinicke who he had in two different stints.  I've not yet gotten the impression that he thinks he's the QB1.  but I buy that he likes him a lot as a backup.  If it feels like that narrative changes than I will change with that.

The two criticisms of Heinicke seems to be

    A.  Short sample.  1.25 games here where he was good.  1 game in Carolina where he was bad.

    B.  Durability

I am a Heinicke guy as for category A.   I'll go nuts and blow off the Carolina game and ride with 1.25 games and say he's not the next Matt Flynn, Scott Mitchell, etc.

But hearing they have durability concerns and are also looking for a different starter got my attention.  That to me is a strong 1-2 punch.  And to my eyes yeah Heinicke does look like having a Colt Mccoy kind of physique who can be split open by a big dude crushing him. So that's my concern about him.

Surprised people here haven't seen that show, its been on for years.

Tried a few times to watch GMF. Hack show to me.

    A.  In trade value a first next year is the equivalent of a 2nd now.  Pushing a pick one year down the road lowers the value of the pick versus keeping it the same.

Never understood this, when for weeks you’ve been saying a player picked, let’s say QB,in the first has a better chance of being good than in other rounds. Not being an ass, just don’t understand the thinking.

True, but it would be at the considerable risk of losing whatever's left of Haskins trust in the Redskins heirarchy-- something that might never be restored even if it was a bluff all along.

In my opinion if we start hearing legitimate reports that the Skins are shopping Simba it means that Rivera has decided to trade him.

Until that unlikely, but possible event the Redskins will no doubt publicly deny any interest in acquiring a first round signal caller.

However, that doesn't mean that deep within the bowels of Redskins Park we aren't granularly analyzing and comparing the pro potential of Haskins, Tua and yes, even Burrow. Anything less would be front office malpractice.

    Simba?
