Keim keeps saying Josh Reynolds. I hope they don’t go in that direction. If the goal is a tall skinny receiver, plenty of those in this draft

Exactly. Josh Reynolds is a jag, I’d be disappointed if he’s really being targeted.

I'm not sleeping on Forbes. We shouldn't have drafted him where we did, but he was still a first round value and would have gone right after our pick most likely.

Agreed. I’ll never forgive Rivera &co for drafting him over Gonzalez- how nice it would be to go into this year without that CB need. And boy, seeing Forbes on that chart that SIP posted on the last page…

all that said, I’m hoping that we just used him wrong and a better system/coaching will raise his play. I’m not counting on it, but hoping.

  3. DQ has faced curl plenty, I’m sure he has seen enough tape to feel strongly one way or another. Idk who blew what coverage (probably Forbes) in those cowboys tailkickings, but it probably doesn’t help DQ’s perception of him…

that said, I’d like to see him back in B&G if he realizes he doesn’t deserve anywhere near top dollar.

  4. Just now, Command The 414 said:

true but all he would need to do is be on the field run a few routes and catch 2-3 balls a game and his shear presence on the field will help McLaurin & Dotson across the middle and Ertz too… but that’s the key he needs to be in the field

And how much are u willing to pay for a guy who’s going to catch 30 passes? I don’t think this is a realistic expectation…

  5. Mike Williams isn’t in the stage of his career to take a one year prove-it deal… guy is 30, he’ll be looking for his last multi-year deal if he hits the market.

A old, extremely injury prone player isn’t who we should look to add. If it’s dirt cheap then fine, but unless ekeler is his bff, I don’t see it happening.

If it's true that we went hard after Hunter, would we go just as hard after Bosa? Would the Chargers trade Bosa for our 2nd third round pick just to get out of his salary cap hit? This would essentially be a Chase Young for Bosa swap on our end.

I’d say so. The only think I’m wondering is if we signed Fowler/ferrel (plan b) as a reaction to being turned down by hunter (plan a). If so, it may mean we’re done addressing that position.

that said, I think bosa should be had for much cheaper than a 2nd. With his contract and his recent injury history…

  7. If my guy mr. @Kalu44 is correct that we went hard after hunter then it seems Peters would agree with my stance… **** it, I didn’t mean to turn this into a pissing match. We’re signing guys, improving the roster, cheers to that.

The point wasn't to use FA to go for big swing blue chip elite players. Guys like that aren't really available in FA anyway. The goal was to fill out the roster so we can at least be competitive, and especially to find some vets on the offense that can support a rookie QB.

We're gonna build the core of our team, the real blue chip cornerstones, via the draft.

Hunter is a cornerstone. We’re paying three rotational guys the same price as a blue chip player. I’ll always disagree with this tactic. Gamewreckers take teams to a higher level, depth does not.

sure, I trust peters to draft well. But point is for $25m we could have landed one but we used the funds to get jags.

  9. Peter’s got me spoiled here… it’s 10:00 and I’m dying to see who’s next.

It’s great to see that most are looking at this realistically. Luvu and Badass are the only clear upgrades. Although I’m a fan of the cheap chinn and ekeler signings, they are wildcards.

as far as the three cowboys DEs- I love that they wanted to come here to continue playing for Quinn, it says a lot. But, I would have much preferred hunter. Our problem for years has been neglecting blue chippers and this is the perfect example of taking jags instead.

regardless- the FO finally addressed some of the glaring holes (ILB, OL) that this board has been clamoring for, so I’m content… but let’s keep ‘em coming!

  10. Chinn feels like the one guy out of the bunch that we’re gonna regret not signing for longer. Love the pickups so far but plenty more to be done- let’s get that CB, LT, and WR

  11. Not understanding the uproar from cowboys fans and former players… must not be math people… they went into this off-season with like $5m (not including rookie contracts). Sure they could have done some contract restructuring, but they had no real splash potential.

  12. Kinda heascratching how people here seem to forget howell was statistically a top 10 (maybe even top 5) qb halfway thru the season. He showed more in his first year starting than your darnolds, Zach Wilson’s, Mac jones and any GM worth his paycheck would see he has a lot more potential than the aforementioned failures… let’s also remember the team flat out gave up. The players hated bienemy, the OL was worst in the league, our weapons were meh. Howell faced about as much adversity as you could draw up.

If howell is traded it’s a mistake. And if it’s for anything less than a 3rd it simply doesn’t make sense.

He also notes that a four-year deal would likely mean a slight bump to $15-$16 million per year annually. A three-year deal is something the Bengals have given to plenty of free agents in the past, including cornerback Trae Waynes (2020 offseason).

Spotrac predicts a four-year, $54.6 million market value for the former Wolverine.

Appreciated… I still think I’m taking the over.

The Commanders shouldn't go crazy in FA this year, but I'm concerned that they haven't gotten any impact players yet. I'd like at least one guy who's more than just "solid."

Exactly. Armstrong should be fine, but he’s no gamewrecker. Id MUCH prefer Danielle hunter @$10m/yr more than what we’re paying Armstrong.

great players impact those around them, it goes beyond their personal stats. In a way you fill more than one hole by adding a player of that caliber. I’ll admit I don’t know Armstrong well enough, but I doubt he’s that guy.

Salary cap expert Andre Perrotta put together a contract projection that the Bengals could propose to Onwenu. Perrotta believes Cincinnati could offer him a 3-year, $42 million contract that includes a $15 million signing bonus, $20 million fully guaranteed at signing and $32 million in total guarantees.

Is he saying that’s what specifically the bengals can offer him or what he should get… from the looks of things today he’ll fetch way more than that.

People getting mad since Philly is signing these big names yet they only have 1 SB to show for it.  It's not like they're the Chiefs or something like that

They’re feeling a lot like the chiefs of the nfc. Howie understands quality over quantity. I hate them as much as the next guy, but they have the best FO in the game.

  17. Badass feels like a good deal, but Armstrong I’m a bit less optimistic about… $12.5m/yr for a guy who definitely benefitted from lining up next to arguably the best pass rusher in the game.

that said, I have to trust Quinn on this one.

So much like when Ron Rivera brought a number of his Carolina Panthers players here, Dan Quinn seems to be bringing a number of hisols cowboys players here. 🤔

Which makes sense because of the familiarity… at least in this version we’re not sniping off of the worst team.

There seems to be the Maye camp, that's me and then the Daniel's camp.  They know who they are.  It's cool. I still believe Maye is the pick on draft night as they think Daniels it.  It will be that way for several more weeks.  LOL

    And there’s the trade-back camp… I don’t believe we reach for a qb at #2 if there’s a qb-needy team after free agency.

I HATED the recent Dotson and Forbes picks (should have had olave and Gonzalez) when most on here didn’t have a problem. I’m seeing the same scenario here if we draft maye or Daniels…

too many are brainwashed into thinking that if you have a top pick it must be used on a qb. It simply isn’t the case… ask the jets.

  20. We all know the qb is the most important position on the field and the one most correlated to winning. It’s not an argument.

the issue is that when talking about this specific draft class, we’re absolutely forcing it if we take a qb at #2. This is FAR from 2020 with burrow, tua, Herbert. You take a qb at 2 when the value adds up, which it doesn’t for maye or daniels.

the high iq move is to trade the pick if the offer presents itself. The next best move is to take MHJ.

im still holding out hope that peters is capable of playing 4D chess and all the qb rumors are just to get a team hot and bothered enough to overpay for our pick.
