Really, I didn't know that. It's messed up because Dana promised it would be in Sweden. Maybe that was one of the negotiation criteria that Jones demanded, in order to agree to fight Gus instead of Cormier - that it couldn't be on Gus' home turf.

Thanks I just saw that Wandy has been pulled from the Sonnen fight and replaced by Belfort, pending a June 17th review. Bummer

It looks like we have 2 separate cards on the same day this weekend - one in Brazil, and one in Germany. But I guess the significant time zone differences make that possible without over-lapping. Anyone know about what time the Germany card starts ?

Oh I agree with you. There should be no asterisks on those fights, in my eyes. I was just referring to a large portion of the population that is chalking up the asterisks. Although, I'm sure most of those are probably just casual fans, and I probably need to stop paying attention to youtube comments and online sports news comments on the fights, as those are probably super-casual fans. But it sure would be nice to see Weidman put together a completely non-controversial win (that I believe he's highly capable of), that would silence every single doubter, just like Dillashaw did. As for the Munoz fight, I was basically saying it was 3 fights ago since his last non-asterisk, so I wasn't including that one.

Weidman's enemy isn't Machida, and it's not Brazil, but it's the pesky asterisk. He will come out with a nasty vengeance against the asterisk, that will unleash a fury to finally defeat it for the first time in 3 fights, and prove he is for real.

Mizugaki is the first fighter that I've noticed wears ankle supports on both ankles. If that's legal, I'm wondering why more fighters don't wear those, for support and injury prevention. It may have been enough to prevent Varner's sprain/break (whatever it actually was)

I'd love to see a Diaz & A-Silva fight. Similar to Weidman, Diaz has a fearless & unshakable psych, so he wouldn't be baffled by Silva's mind games, like most fighters have been.

I assume you mean, that neither of them would even attempt a takedown, as opposed to saying that neither would be successful despite attempting, correct ?
