  1. It's disappointing they're getting turnovers when they need them and just handing the ball right back.
  2. I can usually deal with other teams' traditions even when I hate them (Tomahawk chop, terrible towels, etc.), but I'm a little closer to snapping everytime a Hawks player hits a three and the Atlanta PA guy says three in that falsetto. He could fall off the face of the Earth and I think I'd be okay with it. Also bad playing by Ariza the last couple minutes.
  3. This is looking like it could be a loss, and a strong contender for worst loss of the season.
  4. Crawford threaded the needle to Ariza there. Very Wall-like. Wall-y?
  5. What an awful shot by Pargo. Freaked out and tried to do too much with tons of time left.
  6. 3 point game turns into a 7 point game rather quickly. This has happened a lot, the Wizards get so close and within reach of a win then stumble on their face. It's like the other teams is that guy who starts driving away without you in the car, slows down for you to catch up and then keeps speeding up when you try to open the car door.
  7. For all the shotjacking Crawford can be prone to do, I like that he's realizing they need to press more and is pumpfaking, driving, etc. I hate to think how ugly our past 6 losses would have been without him keeping us in it.
  8. Buckhantz and Chenier are so good. Really like the radio team of Johnson/Consor too. Really a shame we can't give them a good team to talk about.
  9. Double-digit deficits to the Bobcats is just shameful. It's like a never-ending nightmare being a D.C. sports fan.
  10. This game's starting out rough. Booker's doing pretty well getting to the rim, but other than that not the greatest opening.
  11. I know I shouldn't be surprised but to see this team wilt in key situations when they've been in every game is so depressing.
  12. Crawford has made some incredible shots from far downtown tonight.
  13. I thought Vesely had a good half, Ariza surprised me too. Crawford was pretty much himself except a cold shooter right now. I couldn't believe how much worse Booker looked than himself before his injury last season, too many turnovers.
  14. First time I saw the Wizards this season. Couldn't see the second half, but saw a lot to be excited about with Singleton. We all knew he was tough on defense and could contest shots, but he looked like he really worked on his J in the offseason. Less hesitant to take shots (though that may have been because of injuries), and when he missed he was pretty close. Impressed with the bench tonight in Webster and Pargo. Never been great at scouting or knowing incoming players, particuarly in the NBA, but thought they were great when they were in when they saw us. The Heat obviously were not going hard tonight, but they did a good job of keeping us in the game and playing hard. After seeing so much Blatche the past few years, I'm not exactly used to saying that. Thought Crawford was roughly the same, some nights he'll shoot you in the game, some nights shoot you out of it. A lot like Nick Young but should get you some assists, but definitely like him on the team right now just because we need good shooting when he has it. Not expecting much in wins and losses, but if they play the season like the first half I'm pretty satisfied, what with the culture change happening (at least it seems to me). I hope Beal picks it up based off tonight but he's young so I'm not too worried at this point. Cool of them to get the W despite injuries and no pressure yet though, even if I couldn't enjoy the entire game.
  15. Found an article that I found both interesting, and if true, infuriating. A few snippets: Rest is at http://jayglassie.com/2012/04/24/the-last-straw/ here if you're interested. Love the Wizards but this extension really disappoints me. I won't go into next season with nearly as much excitement as I otherwise would.
  16. That was a good play drawn up by Wittman at the end there. Nice feel-good win going to next season. Also, Nats/Caps/Wiz go 3-for-3 today. That's gotta be like Hailey's Comet passing over.
  17. Well, Nick Young's having a good night. Looks like we'll be needing that, the Spurs are scoring at will.
  18. I'm not in favor of just automatically giving him the job, but I'd be lying if I said I haven't been pleasantly surprised with Wittman so far this season. The Wizards looked pitiful in the beginning of the season until Flip got canned. I assumed it was done there but since then I've watched most of the games, and most of them were at least competitive. I like that he distributes playing time on who's actually earned it lately (something I hadn't seen in quite a while) and you can see some improvement in some of the young guys. I don't know enough to say who should be the guy, but definitely have to give him props and try to keep him around in some capacity.
  19. I almost want to order Papa John's tomorrow on principle alone. It's good when you can see glimpses of the future. Trevor Booker needs all the minutes he can get this season. I think he's got a very bright future.
  20. Tough loss (barring a miracle comeback) but I'm still proud of the effort. It's hard to win when your shots aren't really falling. Especially hard when the refs are pushing the league agenda. Looking forward to the next game.
  21. It'll be hard to win if Young doesn't have a good night scoring, but lots of good offensive rebounds so that bodes well.
