And YOU do?
So let me get this straight, some rando on the internet thinks he understands the QB position better than Ron Rivera. A guy that has spent his entire adult life both playing and coaching in the NFL.
The same rando who showed up out the blue here to argue in the honor of Taylor Heineke’s ability to play QB in the NFL. The same Taylor Heineke that not one person paid to evaluate NFL players is touting as anything more than a backup at best, and has never referred to his arm as average, is here to tell us that not only his is arm average but we’re all too simple to get over his draft status or should I say lack thereof.
I think you summed that up quite nicely.
I asked this question earlier, Is Fitz done for good. If we need a bridge QB, isn't he still a better option that the current batch of available FA's ?
I wasn't really excited to see him play last year but after the mess we've had at the position, it would be nice to see someone who can throw the ball to TM in stride and hit an occasional big play without having to have guys wide open.

Not that any of them is a great option but I would be fine with one of these dudes and draft a guy to eventually take over.
Trubisky
Marriotta
Winston
Give me the one with the biggest chip on his shoulder and a Rexy - F it I'm going deep ! attitude. We can be in the playoff hunt and groom the youngster.
Jimmy G & Wentz don't make any sense , especially if we have to give up assets.
KC Maybe ? If he could harness that energy he had from the "You like that ? " GB game.
Still looks like Fitz is a better option than all of the above. Is he retired ?

But Ron is not going anywhere unless he wants to leave or they remove Dan Snyder. in that case a new owner may want to bring in thier own staff.

In a scenario where we are starting TH next season, is there any hope that he can build up some arm strength in the off season ? Are there examples of QBs doing this ?
I really don't know if thats physically possible to do in an off season, and if he could have done it, he probably would have already. The guy seems like a grinder maybe there is some hope if we have to call on him again.

So Miami was dead last in run blocking and Eric Flowers was expendable ?

Over in the prediction thread I had us getting a win on sheer will and determination....I'm a fool.
I have liked the heart and character this team has had ever since RR took the reins. WFT happened ?
Fortunately, I dozed off in the first quarter and when I woke up after the half the game was over.
Allen & Payne scrapping on the sideline ?
I wish it would F'n stop already.

A mercy rule?
This team hasn't quit yet and I don't see that happening this week either even if the playoffs are a fantasy
Dallas should be running teams out of the building this year with all their talent and yet they struggle to get "easy" wins.
This game is close the whole way - The good guys come out on top

What should they have done? Cancel all of the games?
Not suggesting that at all. Only pointing out that they changed the protocol after we had half our team in it.

What a total sham ! The league has less than zero integrity left...they are clearly a rudder less ship of fools and they made their latest rules update to stave off the massive loss of viewers that will result as this thing blows up league wide. What a joke

They (NFL) had to reschedule. This outbreak is likely the tip of the iceberg and WFT has a pretty high percentage of vaxxed players compared with other teams. The next couple of weeks will probably play out similarly and they loose all credibility and their product becomes poop when teams full of replacements take the field.

At this rate RR & JDL are going to have to suit up and play both ways.
And where the hell is Junior Gallette ? maybe call up James Thrash and that safety who was Troy Apke before Troy Apke (can't remember his name and he was actually not terrible like Apke)
Seriously though, there is no reason to think they win this game or even have an NFL caliber product on the field, but I am oddly confident that they do just that. Resilient, tough MF'ers almost like a scab game without the animosity.

He almost pooped the bed on that last drive that is undeniable but he made up for it and got the team in a position to win AGAIN.
Its curious that some folks think he gets a pass from the fanbase, that maybe KC didn't.
I wonder who those folks would rather have in the game down a score with 2 minutes to play ?

it’s called EXTREMEskins, not mediumskins.
That was the Zornskins "staying medium" does anyone else remember Doc Walker losing his s..t after the medium team had lost 3 straight after starting out the season so good.

Why would they go after a mid round rookie if they're looking for an upgrade? They already have a mid level guy in Heinicke. History shows that mid round QBs very very rarely work out. If they want an upgrade they should be serious about it and try to get the best QB they can. That's what SF did. They had a decent QB in Jimmy G but they knew they wanted an upgrade and moved way up in order to get their guy.
Yeah, agreed RIF
That's not what I'm saying here. Just simply that IF they want to take a mid-round guy w/ upside that they can groom to be a backup or future starter, they can, without reaching or sacrificing much not as an upgrade.
Point being that it looks like Taylor is going to be here for a while because there really aren't any options in the draft, FA doesn't look great either, and he doesn't suck.
-
I think Taylor has put the team in a perfect situation, assuming that he continues to learn and grow in the position. There is no need to panic going into the draft and reach for QB. They will have done their due diligence and be able to snatch up a quality mid-round arm with potential & upside. They can take a similar approach in FA, if there is a real chance to land a guy like Rodgers or Wilson, then yeah get them in here and let's roll, but you don't have to roll out the red carpet for middling talent or a statuesque guy like Carr or Matty Ice. I see that approach as wise. Whether they meant to do it or not, the FO is playing with house money for the remainder of this season and next. An added benefit to this is that the team is learning how to win without the benefit of its star players in Sweat and Young which gives them some more house money should they get in on the Rodgers or Wilson sweepstakes.
It seems to me that Taylors' success is a lot like Cousins' success in that their ability digest the offensive scheme and execute the playbook. Taylor doesn't have the period of sustained success that Kirk has and lacks the arm strength but has some intangibles that are out of this world good and that is often the difference in a win or a loss. That was always the big knock on Kirk was that his bunghole got a little tight at exactly the wrong moment. It remains to be seen whether or not Taylor can keep it up, but it is not a bad situation to be in for the foreseeable future.

footnote * Jaret Patterson breaks a long one for six and Curl gets a pick.
We should lose this game but we don't the boys show up and play with heart

No. I know we beat him way back in the day, like 2003-ish when he was a youngin' in NE.
Either Gibbs or Zorn beat him on his way to the SB .

This is like the barrel roll scene from Talladega Nights where they cut to commercial and come back and the cars are still rolling.
Whenever this ends I think we need to soak the remains in gasoline and light it ablaze, perhaps an exorcism too for good measure.

52 to 10 packers

Yeah, this makes total sense. Now we roll on to victory ! Big ol' weight holding everybody down. Good riddance. Everything that happens with this team seems to be the butt of some elaborate cosmic joke. Does anyone really think that the ST21 deal and now firing the kicker takes the stench of complete failure off of this team. I am so disappointed in myself for even coming back here to get the latest news on wiffed (WFT)
What the hell happened to "culture change" that starts at the top. How bout we tell out two star DE's to STFU when they start going on about setting sack records in the pre-season. Thats the way we operate here though.
Feel bad for Hopkins he sucked, but we have barely been in games this season so what does it really matter
-
I think the evidence will be pretty conclusive that PED's are not the issue here. His attorneys only need to show defensive game tape to illustrate this.
All I can say is change the friggin name already from Washington Football Team (WFT) to Washington Team Football..... (WTF) it solves so many problems and answers the whole team identity question, rather succinctly, I might add.
I can barely remember when it was just about football around here.
Still excited for TH and the boys though, real underdog story there.

If that's a real offer, Kirk is setting the market for a mid-tier talent so high that we will have to over-pay for a guy like Jimmy G which in a way might help the Commanders because I don't think even Vinny C would pay that kind of tax. Thus, making it more palatable to the fans to just sign a Dalton, Mariota, Bridgewater type and keep taking shots at the draft.
