Mayers was not on the level of Bowers as a prospect, he was the 3rd TE taken. And probably will bust, he was physically lacking in a lot of areas.

Alright, I don't have to worry about spending excess resources on an undersized TE. (Bowers is good, but still)

I would not trade up for Bowers. I know this is an unpopular opinion. But just can't do it.

So much trade intrigue about moving up for a WR or a OT in the 1st. I think we should prepare for the 2nd round to not go the way people hope for our picks due to many teams reaching ahead of us.

I'm still confused why Eddie Rosario is on the team. He can't hit, he can't field, he can't run the bases like the rest of the team. He's got the 2nd slowest sprint speed on the team, and the actual slowest is the catcher. He also doesn't really look interested in playing. Surely we can do better with any AAA player even if we don't want to call up James Wood right?

That's #19 & #83 for #36 & #40 OverTheCap model has that as 2269 value coming in and 2315 going out. Rich Hill model has 330 coming in and 315 going out. That seems pretty fair value wise. One chart has us losing slightly, the other winning slightly. For the record, Tyler Guyton is the next pick. So do we do that trade and roll the dice on the injured Unicorn OT?

It was information from one of Bruce Feldmen's sources on the Athletic. They don't know if Payton Wilson makes it to the 2nd contract, but they would absolutely not re-sign him to one. I know they tell you not to Ski or Ice Skate if you've got a partially torn ACL. Now where would you stick some guys from OT to IOL if you were forced to do it. Like Barton, Morgan, Rosengarten, etc etc.

34" is the ideal length. But it's not a deal breaker to be under it. 33" starts becoming problematic however. I'm trying to remember Joe Thomas's remeasured arm length and it was something like 33 and 5/8ths? Jason Peters, the LT for the Bills and Eagles for decades was something like 33 and 1/8 and or 2/8. Roger Rosengarten's arm length is 33.5", makes it harder but it's not a deal breaker. He's got to be technically consistent to make it work, but helpfully he's athletic. I think it's more likely he's a Guard than OT, but I'm not ruling it out. I also don't think I'd take him at 40, but I would happily at 67. He's one of my trade back from 36 or 40 candidates and then draft.

Didn't Keim mention he heard from people inside the building that Quinn was a serious candidate? He's not framing it the same way now. He's saying he's only hearing about Daniels from talking to people outside the org that like him.

Different athlete, and Phillips arm length was just too small. Sainristil's length is below average but not too short. What about Antoine Winfield Sr as a comparison? Maybe I'm overvaluing Kenny Moore, but he's an above average to really good Nickel corner. I think that's valuable enough to spend a 2nd rounder on. I get not wanting to spend #36 or #40 on Sainristil. But trading back and grabbing him at #50+? 4 years of 80% snaps at above average play is great value.

They lined him up against MHJ outwide and did fine. 1v1 coverage, didn't look out of place against him, and Ohio State wasn't targeting him. He's versatile, tiny, but a gamer. He'd improve the defense.

I love non consensus personal rankings. If that's how it plays out, I think trading back makes sense. Unless you've got a big talent drop off in the Blake Fisher area.

We can say that Harrison is an amazing prospect, while also saying Nabers is an amazing prospect. Having Harrison at WR2 might not be a knock on Harrison, but simply a credit to Nabers also being at that level. In the past 10 drafts, the only two WR's that I think are as good prospects as Harrison and Nabers are 2014 Amari Cooper and 2021 Jamarr Chase. Just 2 guys in 10 years at that level makes it rare. Even rarer is that 2024 somehow has 2 other guys at that level too. It's a unique draft.

Is Irvin legit an OK pitcher or is this just early season luck? His last 2 games have been low enough pitch counts he could have easily gone an extra inning.

Apparently Penix's medical checks came back clean. His knee issues healed well.

We're at a problem where there is no questionable character in our pool of eligible QB's. No Baker Mayfield's. Caleb is going #1 overall. And definitely no extremes like Ryan Leaf or Johnny Manziel. Everyone supposedly isn't an ass and works hard. We've also never been in this situation before as a fan base. RG3 knew he was being taken by us, and we knew it too. Haskins, Campbell, Ramsey, etc were all mid-late 1sts. None of that drama could have formed. It makes sense we're jumping to conclusions when finally any drama appears. We're anxious and agitated and that now has an outlet. That said, no matter how much we may want to handwave it away...it is odd, and the timing of it is a little too convenient to not have all of us anxious fans not jump to those conclusions. I wouldn't say it's a fan club lashing out, but rather the first tidbit of anything we've had that's not drivel from media personalities.

Who could we draft that replaces a multiple pro-bowler at DT? Back when Allen initially wanted a trade I started looking at some DT's in the 3rd/4th round and was curious about Michael Hall as that, but Hall lacks all of Allen's tenacity and toughness. Allen has some serious, "I just lost at contact with the OL, but I'm going to figure out how to push him backwards and muddy up the pocket at the very least." Hall has none of that, once Hall gets stopped he's done. I know you weren't talking about Hall specifically, but there's not much DT talent in round 3 and later that also doesn't come with serious red flags. Such as T'Vondre Sweat.
