I am not convinced that Jamin Davis makes this roster.

Same, could see him getting shipped out for a late day 3 pick towards the end of the summer. Heck, maybe we find an OT on a team needing LB help.

Lol, it is in alphabetical order (by position as listed on the official site), it looked better than ordering it by name.

Is Lucas definitely still on the team? He isn't listed on Commanders.com.

Agree that we will still bring in a vet or two.

Yeah Lucas got a one year low cost deal.

I was looking at the Oline to try to determine a rough depth chart and found a few differences in player positions listed on the official site (Commanders.com), ESPN.com and NFL.com, so I thought I'd share.

A few things to note; NFL.com is well behind the times, Cornelius Lucas isn't even listed on the official site and I'm still worried about the quality of the Oline.

I’m amazed your OCD didn’t make you list that in alphabetical order…….

I reckon Coleman is viewed as our LT. Maybe Lucas starts the season. Maybe we bring in a vet for a season. But after that, Coleman was drafted for that job. I’m more concerned at RT now.

I also think there will be players available that we can get to upgrade before week 1.

  4. 1-4 JJ McCarthy QB………actual 10

    4-106 Roger Rosengarten OL………actual 62

    4-108 Decamerion Richardson DB……….actual 112

    4-113 Jamari Thrash WR…….actual 156

    6-180 Joshua Karty K………actual 209

Only 4 picks out on Decamerion Richardson being my ‘best’ pick, especially on a bit of a sleeper choice.

  5. 14. Will Johnson*, CB, Michigan

Johnson (6-2, 202) battled injuries last season, but he is a game-breaking cornerback. The interception against Ohio State last season was a game-changer, and he has seven interceptions the last two seasons. Quarterbacks had a 44.7% completion percentage when targeting Johnson, and he held his own against Marvin Harrison Jr. and Rome Odunze. Michigan's last three first-round defensive backs were Charles Woodson (1998), Leon Hall (2007) and Jabrill Peppers (2017). Johnson will join that impressive group.

iirc he moved to the slot after Higgins and chase were drafted...but I might be misremembering. was just wondering if he offered a similar skill set without having to give up draft capital (I never studied him closely, I just always thought he was a good #2). anything higher than a 3rd for Aiyuk with his upcoming contract demands makes me hesitant.

Just been reading there that the Steelers are in on him. A few other unnamed teams too. Excellent receiver. I mentioned. Gallup yesterday. There are several options at varying costs.

Point being for me, I want us to keep the foot down. Another WR would be a strong move IMO. Much like OT, less so now at CB for me.

I know there is a clear difference but how does Tyler Boyd compare to Aiyuk in terms of skill set?

I think from memory Boyd is a slot receiver, and that’s really what we’ve just drafted.

    Why exactly?

Justin Jefferson on the other hand, that’s a WR I’d be willing to give up assets and set contract records for.

Aiyuk, if we wanted him so bad, could wait a season and not give up anything but $.

Aiyuk is a stud who won’t hit free agency.

We’ve gone all in, 20+ free agents, drafted a franchise QB, nailed the draft, on paper for now, we have a need for another quality WR, still rank 2nd in available cap space, have 100mil+ in space next year, Aiyuk and Daniels have a great relationship.

    No brainer.

Only if LT is addressed  first. Because the assets needed to get Aiyuk or a hypothetical LT could be the  same. And in that case tackle first

I think we’ve drafted Coleman as our LT of the future. Perhaps we pick up a vet OT on a one year deal for the interim.

Given it's a one year rental and then you gotta pay big money I'd offer a 3rd maximum.

I’d be tempted to offer a second for him. I’d happily give him big money too.

I’m not looking for Aiyuk until this season is over and he’s a free agent.

I don’t see him hitting free agency

I don’t want to pay Aiyuk a top of market LTD, much less give up an asset for the ability to do so.  Hard pass.

Seems like the ideal time to do exactly that IMO

Totally agree…. It amazes me that ppl think just adding another WR will solve all our issues… we just drafted a rookie QB who should in all honesty start the season as the starter so he’s already going to be a deer in headlights so why not get him another asset to help protect him?

    Or both ?

I think what's clear is they didn't have the same grade on Cooper as others. I know a lot of people liked him but it's clear this regime does thier due dilligence adn they didn't value him as much. It may have been a cultural fit.

AP has a clear vision of the type of players he wants and while we may see Copper as fitting that profile he and the rest did not so they were not only willing to pass on him but willing to make a trade with a division rival to let them have him. Clerly they could be wrong. But I am willnig to give them the benifit of the doubt.

There is a long list of man crushes from fans that turned out t have something wrong with them we did not know.

Same. For the record I wasn’t pushing the DeJean selection. Just discussing the process in that high second round.

Were we clearly focused on Sainristil? Or was he a number of options there?

I don't think we can say, for certain, what they were clearly focused on or not. I think it's fair to say we did not like deJean for whatever reason to allow him to go to the Eagles, or they thought he might be available later--since the Eagles took Mitchell in the first.

Personally I think it’s very obvious we wanted Sainristil in the second round, and that influenced the trade back. And yep we can have been that sold on DeJean at the same time.

I like the fact they stuck to their board. Too often we have fallen in love with a player (Forbes, Davis) and passed on better players. I'd rather not address the immediate need by taking someone in a panic that they didn't rate highly. Will it work out? Time will tell, but they had a very good approach and I love they stuck with their evaluations.

I think you are probably right, however the passing over of DeJean at #40 because we were clearly focused on Sainristil make me slightly question that logic.

You have to assume we didn’t have a first round grade on DeJean, or had other concerns. I know we got good trade value, but imagine if we hadn’t got Sainristil at #50 once that CB run started.
