  1. Dude, do we have a contact person within the NFL. I have been watching draft for two days. I only slept 6 hours total in two days because in Europa these timeslots are ****ed up. They better change that because I feel by found 5 I'm just a sleep hahaha

  2. My feeling of the draft. Let me try to explain it right.

I hate the way we draft. I don't hate the players themselves but get feeling we had a list of position+play style and reached to fill does positions. I can not believe that these guys where the highest rated on the draft board. So we reached.

Second thing I see is we take solid players who can play now. They won't become a star but will make an impact early.

So to summarize. We take a win now, contribute now, short term approach (because they believe we are close and Ron is on a hot seat). I don't like that. Short term gains will kill you in the long run in the NFL.

Why would they take Gardner at 5 when they know Carolina won't take him at 6 (considering Carolina took Horn last year and traded a relatively high pick for Henderson)?  Everyone knows they need OL (and so does Carolina).  So, taking the OL of your choice at 5 makes much more sense.  If they take Gardner, it will be at 7.

To many times I have thoughts like this. Some GMs really do weird stuff.

  4. In general you can slam any draft discussion down that it's a tombola/roulette table or whatever. If we knew what kind of player DJax would have become, he would have been an earlier pick. But if he was drafted earlier by a other team, there is no guarantee that he would had become the player he was...

So many factors are important for succes. That's the fun part. Even this 7th round pick can surprise you.

Yeah I really like Stingley and Williams, both superior talents to the others.

I am too conservative to take them at 11 and risk getting little productivity due to health concern.

But where did conservative picks get us? We are far away from being super bowl contender. So don't we need to be a bit risky.

I would love Hamilton but I think gmen or jets will take him at 7 or 10. I think Stingley will be there.

Stingley would be a love and hate pick. His potential is what I think we need. Find that top tier player. But man...it can be such a wasted pick

  7. Only weird thing this year is. That most of us guys like two/three WRs, a ILB and maybe Hamilton. But if I read mocks. Then these guys are all over the place. The odds are pretty decent that one drops below pick 15.

There is just a really big bunch of players that are around same level. So my gut feeling would be; either a top players drops and you pick him up (get higher talent leven then the second tire of guys) or you take a second tire guy...but value is kinda mwha because you can find the same talent 5 to 10 picks later.

It's just a bad spot this year.

  8. Yeah for me Williams is perfect pick for a team like Eagles. They have enough picks, they can gamble even harder.

We can not have after Samuels, a second WR. That comes in to help and do nothing a full year. They player we draft should be on the field they one. Doesn't have to be starter but be active.

Lets not make any excuses for his 40. It actually matters a lot at FS. How many starting FSs in the NFL have run a 4.7 40? I would think the answer is zero.

But his combine time was 4.59 or something right? Why are we freaking out about him beeing hand timed at 4.7 at a pro day?

  10. I'm not sure about Hamilton narrative.

Based on film this guy was top 5 material right? He now runs slow (film didn't show a slow or to slow player) and teams question how much positional value a safety has. Feels like me the numbers guys are overruling and overthinking the football stuff.

I do agree with Skins in Paradise that this guy is not some super human, best safety prospect in years. But let's be honest, when we opened this thread we knew that this draft lacked star power. This is not a top heavy draft. It's not a great year to have a top 10 pick, just pure based on talent.

  11. I personally feel a bit reckless for this draft.

I feel like we have taken the "good football" players to many times. I'm now looking at a team with pieces that can get you between 6 and 9 wins. I just want to recklessly swing for a player that will change the team. I thought Chase could be that for the D (he might still be) but it didn't come out last year. A little extreme example. Aaron Donald on the final super bowl drive. That's a baller taking the team on his back when it matters.

Is that one of WRs? Are they going to be the clutch player to make an amazing catch when we are doing a 2 min game on the line drive? Is it going to be a LB who makes a critical stop? Is it a DB who makes a play to close out the game on 4th and goal?

I don't mind if we miss on our first and second rounder, to gamble a bit. Because the current trend of the Rivera era seems like "bunch of solid players, with average of 7 or 8 wins". I'm done with that. Congratulations on being average. Average doesn't count. Playoffs wins do.

All the FA moves and the way FO talks leads me to believe we just draft a solid player. From a scale from 1 - 10 a 7. And team will hardly improve.

  12. I said before and stick to that. McDuf guy is super solid allround corner. You can't go wrong with that pick. I only think his upside is little limited. I think I said the McDuf could be Joe Haden like. A really good player but not top 10 in his position.

Stingley has that top 10 game changer ability. But that's a HUGE gamble. He could also be terrible. With McDuf I have no doubt that he will be at least above average.

  13. I looked at all the angles. My final verdict.

If we stay at 11 100% a D player. DB or LB is good. Prefer DB but LBs or good to.

If we trade back my money would be on WR. I like some WRs but I don't see enough drop of or difference to use 11 on that.

Is Drake London really viewed as a top 15-20 pick. Don’t see it to that level at all.

Could age be a factor? Isn't he just 20? That people expect him to grow in route running and blew people  away in the coach talk. Having high football IQ.

I don't see it. But something happened why they love him.
