When I made my Hi I'm new here thread, one of the things recommended for me to do was to "read this entire thread and laugh my ass off"...For the past couple of days, I have been doing just that. I just kept seeing 4C everywhere and naturally, not knowing what that means or stands for, I asked because I, unlike those dealing drugs and living ghettos, am on a lifelong quest for knowledge.

I'd say if you defend the takedown and the fight stalls in a clinch, it makes you look good because the other fighter is not able to execute the technique on you that he is attempting. However, if you're not doing anything but defending takedowns and the other guy is making all of the effort and initiating all of the exchanges, the simple fact that you have a good takedown defense is no longer enough to win the judges' approval.

Yeah I thought he should have won too. If no one gets knocked out or submitted, whoever landed more blows (takedowns should count as part of this) should win. If that's a toss up, it should go to the agressor, or whoever appears to control the pace of the fight. I feel Burkman threw more punches and kept moving forward, controlling the fight. He looked good throwing those combos and backing Swick up against the cage, but failed in every takedown attempt from there. If I were his corner I would have told to to quit wasting time going for the double leg and back him up against the cage and just keep throwing bombs.

I agree with Tito and Couture. I always got the feeling that they weren't getting paid as much as boxers and now we have confirmation. I think I heard De La Hoya and Mayweather each made something like $10 million for their last fight? The UFC is bigger than boxing now! More excitement, more viewers: PPV and regular TV (Ultimate Figher reality show), more merchandise, more students (pretty much every martial arts school is adding an MMA program now), etc...If it's the giant that we all know it is, wouldn't you like to see your favorite fighter getting a bigger cut instead of Dana White making all the $$$???

No one replied to my post earlier about the MMA girls! Go to YouTube and type in MMA girls...they train at a Gracie affiliated gym in Florida and are college students...but they're hot!!! So hot that you know they train just for the workout (because they have great bodies) and have never been hit in the face. They have instructional videos on different submissions and ACTUALLY know what they're talking about!
